It's funny how even though I have this set on email notification, I had no notice that I received this question. So much for technology. Well, to answer this, as late as it is, I've always enjoyed writing. I was kind of the quiet kid. The other kids didn't really talk to me much because they thought I was weird...or something. Who knows? I was raised to love books and sometimes I would imagine a different ending to a story. Occasionally, I would write the new ending for myself. The truth is, I never had the real ambition to publish anything. Writing was kind of personal. I owe a lot to one of my psychology professors who loved how I wrote my papers and my different outlook on things. In one class he had asked us to write down one thing we wanted to accomplish in life. Mine was to write a novel. Little did I know that he expected us to share it with the class. Not only did he encourage me to do it, but he also told me that he wanted to see it in published form. No pressure there. Right? Darkest Before Dawn is that novel and it is dedicated to that very professor. I haven't stopped writing (and editing and self-publishing) since.
