I did. Not as hard as I expected though(it was spoiled for me.) All the way through Mocking-Jay I cried. It was probably just a hard day. I read about 40% and got bored. Then, one day, I decided to read the rest. I finished 60% that day and cried nearly the entire time. What all had happened with Peeta, Prim, and how much her life was forever altered. It was really touching and really good. Technically, yes, I did cry.

almost cry but still,it was so sad:( WHYY
I DONT understand why some people thinks that prim's dead that wasnt as emotional as rue's dead. the effect of prim's dead definitely ruined katniss, and the ending... when rue died, katniss was really sad,but then she moved on.but when prim died, katniss ended up so screwed up. and she's even still sad because of prim until she became an adult.
sorry my english but i hope you all will understand what i mean

I cried when prim died...I usually don't get emotional when I read books.(withthe exception of a few series) But he Hunger Games was emtional all around for me. Love Love Lo ve these books!
Primrose was one of my favorite characters from these books, but I didn't cry when she died, I was shocked, though. :|
I don't think we got to know her well enough to cry...
Not at all, I think I was confused as to what was going on and had to reread a few times to cry maybe..
i didn't cry when she(prim) died, i cried when katniss was with buttercup and shouted at him that prim was never going to come back... buaaa
Yup sure did. It was so heartbreaking and the fact that she died towards the end of the series made it even more so!
I cried when Katniss cried with Buttercup, because I was just imagining what it would be like to lose your sister...if I lost my brother, I don't know what I would do.

I hate that she was killed! I agree with Michelle. Not as well written as Rue's death. No tenderness just death. I would have written it where she lives. What a waste. Of course that is how it is in reality sometimes BUT I want my fantasy to be happier. I need to reread it just to make sure of what I read.
At first, I thought Katniss was dreaming, but then I read over it and realised that Prim had died. I just think the book ended all wrong. I cried at first, and then I was just really depressed for like a day or two because I loved Finnick too and he had a baby who would never see his father :'(
YYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:*(

nope! I'm much more affected when Finnick died.I was like : "watdaaaaa?!!!! Suzzane Collins!! why did you kill Finnick!!! why not Gale?!!" hahahaha :D

No, I didnt even realize what had happened.. I read that part about 50 times trying to understand and when I realized what had happened I just got mad, her death scene was awful.

Nope. I never cared for Prim. She was rather unimportant bc she barely shows up, and the only reason she ever did so, was just to die. It was meant right from the beginning. Pretty boring.
No, but just sad and annoyed, I think the way Collins describe Prim's death is not that powerful enough like what she did with Rue's.
It was sort of a throwaway death at that point, honestly. When Boggs died, it still had impact. Then people started dropping left and right and it sort of started to lose all emotional impact. It was too quick, too vague, too hastily done for my taste. I didn't cry, no. I never did care that much for Prim, though, which is a pity because I think I would have loved her if she'd had a bigger role.On another note, the title of this thread is really spoilery. I had this book on my to-read list, and I could still see all the thread titles... If I'd seen this two days ago, I would have been pretty darn upset, honestly, for the spoiler.
It was sad but no I did not cry. I was more stunned and in shock then anything else. It was uncalled for. There was no need for her to die.
I cried through most of this trilogy. Prim, Rue, Finnick. And I'm sorry but in my alternate Hunger Games universe, Finnick is still alive.
Prim was one of my favorite characters. She was so sweet and caring....so. Her death really hit me hard!!
I couldn't cry. The way Collins was relentlessly killing off everybody had made me feel too stunned and betrayed to even cry for one of my favourite characters.
I didn't cry when any characters died. But I was quite upset about Rue's death!
Then again - someone spoilt it for me and told me that Prim was gonna die.....so I already expected it.

I was just kind of shocked. I mean, I half expected it to happen, but when it happened I felt sympathy, almost empathy for Katniss. If I did cry, it be more for Katniss having to lose her sister instead of crying for Prim. We don't really get to know Prim very well, other than she's a sweetheart and is go with medicine.
Yeah but ionly cried on the part where katniss starts screaming at buttercup "she's dead"! I was really disappointed with this book and I was depressed for the rest of the day after reading it. Prim was my favourite character so I was actually devastated when she died.....:(
I was also disappointed that katniss didn't have a happy ending as gale left her to work in district 2 and that her mother left her to work in district 4 while katniss was left on her own with a cat to mourn over her sister...........:(
Someone, I can't remember which commenter, said Prim's death was just SC's way of driving a wedge between Kat and Gale. But I really think that was secondary. Prim's tragic death was the final nail in Alma Coin's coffin. Kat realized the accuracy of her perception of President Coin as someone willing to go to brutal and unjust lengths to achieve the rebels' mission. Kat realized that, though Snow was truly evil to the core, Coin was just as coldly calculating in her own way. Yes, she wanted to rid Panem of the abominable Snow, but only as long as she got to take the reins of power in the aftermath of the Capitol's fall. This story is about politics and power, though it unfolds through the eyes of the individuals affected by the oppressive Capitol regime and the ensuing revolution. The Kat-Gale-Peeta triangle is a device to invest us in the lives of the characters trying to free all of Panem from tyranny. And yes, I was shaken and saddened by the deaths of Rue, Cinna, Finnick and Prim, even as they added fuel to Kat's fire, so to speak.
Of course i cried. I had big puffy eyes the next morning and wore glasses all day at school. Was a wonder why they didnt tell me to take them off and lucky enough it was a sunny day.
