I didn't cry but sure I stared up the ceiling for a long time and decided I wanted to throw my device but couldn't because I wouldn't be able to read the next few chapters. That part was just so depressing tho.

I didn't cry, because Pinterest spoiled it for me months before I read the novel. I'm still upset. Tag your spoilers, people!
No, I was too shocked that it actually happened, I did NOT see that coming at all! I was sad afterwards though.
I wonder if sometimes, authors don't get "death happy." I didn't see the point of either Prim's death or Finnicks, we already get the message that war is horrible and that many of the power characters are horrible. The series "Game of Thrones" is the same way, endless horrible pointless deaths that don't improve the novels at all.

SmittenKitten wrote: "Nope didn't cry.. but ONLY because of the way it was written. Normally I probably would have been a wreak, but the scene seemed to come out of nowhere, with very little build up.. it just happened ..."Yep, The exact same with me! But the tears kept on rolling out of my eyes when Rue died.It was so heart touching :C
No, I didn't cry when Prim died. Don't get me wrong, I did like Prim as a character because in the first book she was just a scared child like all the rest, but then after that she had matured to level beyond her years in just over a year. But, it didn't touch me enough to cry because 1) She wasn't exactly a main character that we saw a great deal. 2) I think the death happened so quick it was like Collins was in a rush to get to the end of the series so it wasn't as moving as Rue's death was. 3) I don't cry in books often unless an author makes me like that character to such an extent that it just seems like I'm reading a death of someone I knew.
Michaela wrote: "I definitely agree with you Eli. The ending of Mockingjay in general seemed rushed. People died left and right and it was really hard to keep up with who was left. At a few points I had to go back ..."The last sentence I strongly agree with you, once you've killed so many off, you just read the others and you're just like, 'oh'
Jenna wrote: "I was in DENIAL. from that moment forward, I thought it was just A DREAM. seriously. until the last page I was hoping she's in one of her hallucinations, whatever. haha."I felt the same way. Only because her death seemed a bit sudden. I cried way more during Rue's death.
No I don't think I cried but I I did cry at the end of the book especially when she was telling Buttercup that Prim wasn't coming back......... that really hit me deep. How did that cat stay alive anyways I'm just wondering????
No kidding, right? The massive casualties from the sewer fiasco left me numb. Especially when Finnick died. I had to reread that passage a few times, just to make sure Collins really killed him off. I wonder how they're going to translate this into the movie? Do you really think they'll kill off Finnick and Prim? I know they've stuck pretty close to the storyline so far, but really. Soooo depressing.
Prim's death - surprised/sad. Finnick - sad/cried-he had just gotten married; then, read that he had a child -Faucet of tears. Rue's death - cried like a baby. I have read all the books numerous times. It is my all time favorite series. It still makes me cry when I read about her death. I own the DVD to The Hunger Games and whenever Rue's death scene shows I cry like a baby.
I was too shocked to cry, I guess. But I cried like a baby when her cat got home from District 13 and screamed after Katniss told it that Prim's not coming back.
I still can't get over Prim's death. Also Finnick, I was horrified at the way he died. I get chills -bad chills- when I remember his death.
Maybe, I don't remember. I was speedreading the last book to get to the end. Oh, now I remember. Yes, I did. Usually in books that I love, I do cry for the fallen characters.
Hey the title of this discussion is a really BIG spoiler! Someone should change it! My sister is reading Catching Fire, and she has just accidentally saw in my computer "Did you cry when Prim died?" Really, you shouldn't do this things!! You just revealed her the end of the book!
I cried a little, but it was probably because it was like 1 in the morning when I was finishing up the book, and I was so tired I could hardly think straight. I started crying when Katniss yelled at Buttercup.Strangely, I didn't cry when Rue died, though.
To be honest, I didn't cry. Instead, I was mad. Killing Prim defeated the entire purpose of Katniss going into the Games, and her death was one in an exceptionally long line that seemed unnecessary. Yes, it's a book about war, rebelion, and, among other things, death. But killing off every freaking minor character was extreme, unnecessary, and ruined parts of this book. Prim's death also gave Katniss an easy out on the Peeta/ Gale matter. Killing Prim and Finnick, among others, sort of ruined a bit of the last book for me, sadly.

I cried oceans. Prim was the reason of Katniss being "The Girl on Fire". I'm still broken with this.
Nope. By then the author was just wantonly killing off everyone. She'd screwed up the book so badly by this point, I didn't even care. Two half-decent books and one travesty of literature. *sigh*
I didn't for some strange reason. Her death didn't seem like a big deal in the book... not much emotion.
I did not cry I was in a denial for the the next 3 pages but then when i accepted it a terrible feeling washed all over me.
I read that part when I was ridng the tram. I had to re-read that scene again because ... '???'Anyway, that felt quite defeating. Katniss goes through all this crap to save her little sister and then she dies anyway.

Wendy Darling wrote: "No, I actually got pretty mad when she died. (Mockingjay wasn't my favorite book.) I cried horrible tears over Rue's death, though."Me too! I was crying so hard over Rue's death that I had to stop reading because I couldn't see and I was soaking the pages of my book. I was sad about Finnick and Prim, but Rue's death really got me right in the feels.
I hated the third book so much! Prim dying really undermined the entire first book. Even though Katniss volunteered to save her sister, she couldn't save her in the end and that was devastating. I haven't read the third book since.
Okay. What is with the titles of these discussions? Seriously, people. DON'T title your discussion with "DID YOU CRY WHEN PRIM DIED?" or "Comment if you cried when Finnick died" or "How did you feel about Katniss marrying Peeta?"
