As I was typing this reply, our local weather came on and the weather guy showed a picture that someone snapped here today: a double rainbow.

Now that's a worthy ambition.

I read a few pages of a piece by Kathleen Valentine in my bath a couple of nights ago, about a singer, and I can picture the heft of her, the sensuality even when she isn't singing. It is earthy stuff without ever descending to crudeness. There is also more sex on the two or three of Kathleen's pages I had time to read than in all the books of any dozen of the pornographers who surround us, and that's with two fully clothed characters onstage. Kathleen's is a special talent, an eye, an ear, a sensibility one is born with, or not.

I've only read 'Each Angel Burns'. It had some editing flaws but her writing and storytelling are superb... truly one of the most engrossing books I have read yet from indies.

I have a couple more downloaded to my Kindle which I know I will enjoy, but there are a few indie authors I want to read first...

As posted elsewhere I was recently interviewed on You Tube, about The Storyteller. The vids are in 3 parts and about, oh, an eighth of the interview talked about the book. Most of it was about the beliefs that led to the writing of it.

I am a member of Boomers and Books author group blog and since the concepts would likely be considered by most as 'out there', I ran the vids by them to see if they thought it would be appropriate to post on our 'news' and Facebook pages. Not only did they think it a good idea, they suggested I blog about the experience. So I did. And here it is, complete with embedded videos:

Good for you, Andre, to celebrate your life. Like almost everyone else I know, I no longer use a watch to keep time (I don't need to, every device I have boldly reminds me it is marching on, with or without me), but those pieces are pure art. My daughter would kill for one.

Your bicycle reminds me of most golfers' bags - every toy imaginable, all of which are useful and pretty and satisfying, but in the end it is the skill of the athlete that determines the pleasure of the 'ride'.

Yes, I have these watches for the art. There are at least two other devices on my bike to tell time, and at my desk I'm surrounded by devices that tell time. When I wear a watch it is generally a tool watch, a pilot's timepiece with a slide rule around the bezel to do engineering calculations if I'm unavoidably detained in boring situation or with dull people, world time, and enough stopwatches and countdown timers to measure interval exercises, like this one: http://coolmainpress.com/andrejutewat...

Amazing, two in a row of cycling interest... In theory the blog is the record of a writer's procrastinations in rewriting a book that has already gone through umpteen editions. Cycling is GOOD procrastination!

Ha! Readers of my blog are more likely to be terribly confused: it is all over the place, an insight into the mind of a magpie. (I suspect the minds of most artists are like that.) Seems to me far more likely that a focused blog would have a greater commercial impact, but I can't be bothered.
