It doesnt matter if you click on tags already there or if you add more. It adds the tag whatever way you do it!

It also helps if you 'like' the book while you're there and agree with good reviews. I always click on everything while i'm on a page so i can help all at once and not have to go back and do it later if i join another thread like this.

Nope. That doesn't make the numbers for the tags larger. The idea is to increase the numbers. I do TT, then copy and paste the tags below the box. That's easier for me than clicking on each one.

Jill, this link doesn't go to any book for me. The author puts the tags on when she publishes the book, or they can be added later. Follow the link to Sean's book in the post above yours and search for "tags", or type "tt" to see where the tags are.

Hi Julia, I didn't know about this either but if you look on your Amazon book page, below on the left hand side, you can enter up to 15 tags for your book. eg myster, murder mystery etc. Then people can tick the boxes when they are on your page.
When you add a tag the drop down menu will give you more options.

Hi everyone, I was catching up on books to tag since I was last on the thread, I must say I am dissapointed with the people in this thread. I tagged over 60 books today since may, the last time I tagged. On all these pages I tagged, there was an average of 20 tags or less. If 60 new people posted tags I should see 60 + tags per book or more, people are posting but not tagging it's kind of sad.
For those few who are tagging each other, I have a new book released this past month if you would tag it I would appreciate it.

I've tagged and liked one of your books but you haven't created any tags on the other one yet. When you do I will tag it too. You can put up to 14 tags on each book, I think.

Hi Julia,
This is probably the blind leading the blind, but I did find out last week that you have to create tags on your Amazon book site. If you look further down the page on the left it says Add Tags.

You choose whatever you think are good words to search for your book. Eg. some of mine are mystery, cozy mysteries, detective fiction.

When you have chosen them they will appear with a little click box. I'm led to believe that the more times the tags are clicked, the further up the ladder your book goes in the list. Eg, if there are 450 pages of mystery books on Amazon and I only have a few clicks on my tags then I am probably going to be on page 449. If I have lots of clicks then I will be found on page 20.

Also, have a look on the right hand side of the Amazon page where the Cloud is. If you click on this, it will tell you the most popular tag names.
