Did anyone love this book as much as I did? The characters are great--very real and it really does feel like you are right there with them. I got totally sucked in--like forgot who I was for a second because I forgot I wasn't living in Andi and Alexandrine's world.

To continue because I accidentally cut my self off (lol), the emotional poignancy of the story is great and it has some of the best quotes. After reading this, it is hard to believe that Jennifer Donelly doesn't know the meanin of life :) The historical content is fabulous--I didn't acctually understand the French Revolution until I read this; it tells it like it is, doesn't sugar coat it, and gives you a level of understanding that you probably wouldn't get anywhere else.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS BOOK IT WAS SO AMAZINGLY ASWSOME RIGHT FROM THE BEGINNING!!! I WOULD SAY THAT I DO LOVE THE BOOK AS MUCH AS YOU DO!
I read this book for a book club and enjoyed it. However, I enjoyed the Tea Rose series better and the 3rd book is coming out soon. I would give Revolution a 4.5 star rating.
I started reading this book, it was a bit difficult to get into at first but i'm glad I didn't put it down altogether. I loved it a lot, the history and the plot, the characters and the ending. *****
I absolutely loved this book, but agree with R - I think it was a tad strenuous to get into, but after that initial hump, definitely worth it. Am I the only one who wanted Amade Malherbeau and Andi (or Alexandrine, I suppose) to end up together?
I loved this book! As I read more and more I became invested in the characters and found myself hoping dearly that the heart did not belong to the prince. And Alicia- I wanted them to be together too!

The first 6 chapters really capture the guilt, anger, pain that Andi was feeling. I could relate to the anger and how Andi saw music as a release.

I actually loved the contemporary story more than the historical one (tho I loved that one, too). The voice was fantastic! Also, I heard it took her 3 years to do the research for this book, and it def. shows.
Loved it.

sure would love a movie made out of it
This book is so amazing! Everything about it... the suspense, Andi, the humor, the music.. Andi is by far my favorite character in any book. All the research Jennifer must've done really paid off.
I just read it, I actually bought it. And I'm so glad I did. It's amazing. I even bought Jennifer Donnelly's other novel, A Northern Light.
Revolution is by far my new favorite book. A norther Light (also by Donnely) was my favorite book than i read this. The story is amazing the characters are...i can't eve think of words good enough. I have read this book twice since Christmas and i'm thinking about reading it a third time just because it's that good.

I loved this book, found it a little hard to get into but when I did I loved it. I loved the guy, cant remember his name. And the winter rose and tea rose also by donelly are amazing as well
Alyssa wrote: "ikr i loved the northern light too and i love revolution!"Have you read 'The tea rose', 'the winter rose' and 'the wild rose'? they too are written by Donnely but i haven't read them yet. I was just wondering is you had :)
Alicia wrote: "I absolutely loved this book, but agree with R - I think it was a tad strenuous to get into, but after that initial hump, definitely worth it. Yes, this was a wonderful novel. And I love that it's YA because it's so different and fresh. Teens need more books like this. I love Jennifer Donnelly's books, they're all truly amazing.
This book was amazing! I couldnt get enough of it! my favorite quote is:" Its goes on, this world, stupid and brutal.
But I do not.
I do not."
OUI! J'ai ADORÉ l'histoire dans ce livre! (YES! I LOVED the history in this book!) This book is about the French Revolution, which #1) I find history in general very fascinating #2) I've been learning how to speak French in school and #3) We just started learning about the French Revolution in my social studies class!!!!!!!! I just happened to come across this book in my library at this coincidental time!!! How crazy is that? All of those factors added up and made this book very exciting for me to read. Yet, even with out the circumstances, I would have loved Revolution anyway. The way the author wrote the book from Andi's point of view was very personal, and it made me feel the same emotions that Andi went through. I cried. I laughed. I was on the edge of my seat, waiting to see what happened next (Eiffel Tower scene AAAHHH!). I got butterflies in my stomach when Virgil was sweet. Jennifer Donnelly is a GENIUS.
Did anybody else think that when Andi went back in time she was going to rescue Alex and/or Louis-Charles???????? I wish she had been able to, yet at the same time it was part of what made the story so heart wrenching and real (haha, time travel isn't real, I mean the emotions and how the world works).
I adore this book so much!!! I thought the characters were really well drawn, especially Andi. I felt like I knew her, she was so real. However, I don't think the time travel thing was necessary. It was very sad, but it just seemed like a contrast to the rest of the book. It didn't really work for me, but this book is still one of the best I've read in a long time.
I have loved Jennifer Donnelly for a while. I read her first 'rose' book. It was long, but with a good plot. I started the second one, but it felt too much like the first one. She has taken a complete turn around in her writing, and I started her book "Blue" which is a Walt Disneyish, fantasy. She is a great writer. I wish she'd go back to what I think she does best--historical fiction.
