Hi Trish, I was wondering when we are doing the poll, why not let everyone pick which book they want, and then do another poll of the top three. Most times if I'd know that my book wouldn't have won, then I'd pick something else. Most of us are voting for our own book pick by the looks of it. Why not, do a 1st poll, and then one of the top 3? That way we get a chance to vote on what's left.

I think that is a good idea. I think I may wait to vote until the night before as well. Another good idea.
Okay, I have two suggestions for voting. It's only suggestions so if you don't like them, ditch them. 1. We could all nominate a book, they all get listed just like before, and the top 3 then get another poll so we can vote on those only. I know most are voting for their own nomination, which I do too.
Or, (This one maybe better at least that's what I'm thinking)...
2. You (Trish) would have a list of all members, and we rotate who gets to nominate the books each time. This way each member gets to nominate but only on their desinated time. --I'm not sure how many members you have on here so not sure if it would be a pain for you or not. --Anyway, you rotate members and just 3 at a time, or 5 at a time, whatever, gets to nominate the books, and then we all vote on ONLY those members who are nominating that month. Then you list the next group of members who can nominate for the following month, and again, only those members will nominate with the rest of us voting. --This way all members get a fair chance of nominating and all of us aren't nominating a book nor are we voting for our own.
Trish, I also must say that I didn't even see the last nomination on the other board till now. It seems like too much down to the wire with either nominating or 2nd nominations this way. But, you don't know how things will go till you try it. Anyway, I put my vote in for this months book. Thanks.
Trish, I just looked at the member section and looks like you may have over 400 members but not all of them or maybe not even a fourth of them participate in nominating or voting. If that number is right, then maybe you could start by asking members who wants to be on the list to nominate books. Then when someone wants to join in they get added to the bottom of the list and it keeps rotating. You would have to let new members know that they need to ask to be on your list. I'm not sure, just throwing out suggestions. Hopefully, other members will comment.
