Sorry, no offense intended, but to me that's like calling my television Tom or my microwave Monica. I don't understand it, but sin..."
I never developed a relationship with my microwave, but my Kindle Fire HD is Anastasia, my Kindle Touch is Sarah, and my tv is named Sam. Naming is reserved for the special gadgets that I have bonded with. :)
My Kindle is a Paperwhite and her name is Firefly. My first Kindle was a gen2 and her name was Meridia.
Meridia was a reference to a character who was very smart and an assistant.
Firefly is both because it's what I think the Paperwhite should have been called (To fit with Kindle Fire and all the other "fire" talk like "Kindle" itself) and a nod to my favorite TV series ever.
Laurel wrote: "As it turns out, my electronic devices are all themed... my laptop is named Shiny, my iPod Touch is named Serenity, and my Kindle is (appropriately enough) named Firefly. :)"Holy crap mine too! (The Kindle that is) I just noticed your post right after I posted my answer and wow! :) Great minds think alike?
I know this thread is long dead, but I am quite proud of my kindle's name. I decided to call mine "Vigil" as a homage to the act of keeping vigil that a knight would keep the night before he was officially recognized and appointed a knight. Many nights have a I spent praying at the alter of literature so the name works pretty well :P
Just got a new Kindle Fire HDX and have named it ...Girl on Fire
.... not too original I know, but I LIKE it :D
Archimedes, after Merlyn's owl in "Once and Future King", since my Kindle is a very intelligent Kindle.Although, my original name for my Kindle was "The Grey Havens", after the western port from which the Elves sailed into the Undying Lands in "The Lord of the Rings".
After all, my Kindle served as a port from which I could sail to unknown worlds.
My next Kindle will likely be named "TARDIS", after Dr. Who's vessel, since my kindle can also transport me into any time and place in the known (and unknown) universe.

That's great. I especially like the idea that the Paperwhite should have been called a "Firefly".
Its name was Bob...just in case anyone was curious to know, Kindles do float...briefly, or maybe it was just the jets from the hot tub keeping it afloat, idk. But alas poor Bob drowned. RIP

I didn't even know I could name them, I have Lori's Kindle and my kindle fire is Lori's kindle 2 - I will be more creative if I take the plunge and get a paperwhite.
OK.... so this week my Kindle broke after just 18 months. He was called Tyrion. So my question is, do I give my new Kindle a new name, or stick with the name I had and liked? It feels wrong somehow, like naming a pet the same name when the new one will be a different personality. I appreciate this question would sound crazy anywhere else but here!

I just got a Kindle Touch (7th Generation) today, and I have named it The Page Master, after one of my favorite movies.
Monique wrote: "I just got a Kindle Touch (7th Generation) today, and I have named it The Page Master, after one of my favorite movies." LOVE this!
My last Kindle was Mr. Readmore Kindleman. So the new Voyage is, of course....Mr. Readmore Kindleman Jr.
I've just upgraded from the Fire HD 7 (4th) to the new Fire HD 10. It is set for arrival today, and I ordered an orange case that is coming with it. I've already named the new device Clementine..because it's orange..heh, see what I did there..?Also, my Kindle app is called Atticus Finch.
It never occurred to me to name my Kindle anything more original than Kristie's Kindle Voyage (as opposed to Kristie's Kindle - which is my old one that my kids borrow). It's making me feel like my Kindle's less loved than all of yours, which isn't true, because I use it with love every day. Maybe I'll name her Red. Her cover's red, so that might work.
mine is named "my ken doll" :)
I've never named my Kindle Voyage, but my new Fire HDX 8.9 seemed to demand a name. It is now Narmer.
Updated names:Paperwhite 10th Gens (I have two): Narcisse (paperwhite in French) and Tazetta (a type of Paperwhite)
Voyage = Allumer (light in French)
Fires = Le Feu Emeraude and Le Feu Denim for recent models plus two 2nd Gen Fires: Douky and Burning Trees
Basic Kindle 10th Gen = Bathroom (place where I use it)
