Diane - weren't you looking for Slave to Sensation in Canada? I never received an answer from Tantor. Did you have any luck?
I just finished the audio
and wanted to start
but the reviews for the narrators was not good. Any one here listen to this one yet....how does it sound?

That was in the last column's discussion. I just figured you were one and the same!
Tara wrote: "This month so far all I've managed was Outlander but it was 28 discs so I don't feel too bad."You're not the only one, Tara! I've been listening to The Fiery Cross most of the month and I'm barely halfway through it.
i'm almost done with Washington: A Life but its like 41 hours, so i'm not too worried...lol! and i'm cuing up the listens for June
Just re-listened to First Drop of Crimson after listening to Silver Born (Mercy Thompson -- loved it). I listened to the abridged Open Season by Linda Howard and was very frustrated. They even cut the love scenes! However, I may be done my challenge.Am now finally reading the new SEP and loving it to pieces. Damn, that woman is good! Doesn't matter if she has certain tropes (down and out female despised by everyone). She keeps making it fresh. Again, though, not to be read back to back.
I did the three credits for two (I always jump on those) and got River Marked. Shameless, Raziel and Demon should be out soon too (all mine) so that'll be fun.
Krissie wrote: "I listened to the abridged Open Season by Linda Howard and was very frustrated. They even cut the love scenes!"Well, that's disappointing! I'd hoped they'd mostly just cut the villain POV scenes.

Happily audible finally has the digital file.
I finished Chicagoland Vamps. I got really frustrated with the series by the end of the last book which is not the end of the series. I was actually happy about the *surprise* upset ending. The reader was OK.

uhmmm, I've listened to the abridged recording several times and the love scenes are in there. I read the book to see what was cut, and it seemed to me the parts that were cut included the scene with the criminal and the drunken wife of the, uh, politician(? mayor?), as well as some stuff about the antiques store/CIA guys. All the funny condom scenes are there; many of the dog scenes were cut.
I'm currently listening to Slave to Sensation...trying to wrap my head around the world of the Psy/Changeling. I can see why fans of PNR would love this book, but I'm a newbie to the genre and not sure I'd choose another book in this series over a straight romance.
Krissie wrote: "Just re-listened to First Drop of Crimson after listening to Silver Born (Mercy Thompson -- loved it). I listened to the abridged Open Season by Linda Howard and was very frustrated. They even cu..."We are all done with
The Fallen: Raziel so that should be out VERY soon. Paul has finished his part of DEMON (couldn't find the link) and I am on Chapter 10! I love the journey that Azazel goes on between the two books. Can't wait to hear what you all think!
p.s. Krissie, let me know if you're still looking for help with how to add the pictures/links.
Just finished The Secret & a re-listen of The Host. Trying to decide between Only His & Murder Game next. ...Any thoughts?
Kaetrin wrote: "@ Tara - did you like?"I did, I thought it started to drag towards the end, maybe the last 5 discs (out of 28), and I thought after such an epic journey the ending was a little abrupt, but I liked it. I immediately started Dragonfly in Amber. (Which was really disorienting in the beginning, but now it's back to where the last book ended.)
Krissie wrote: "Just re-listened to First Drop of Crimson after listening to Silver Born (Mercy Thompson -- loved it). I listened to the abridged Open Season by Linda Howard and was very frustrated. KarenH wrote: "I'm currently listening to Slave to Sensation...trying to wrap my head around the world of the Psy/Changeling. I kept wondering if this was really the start of the series.
I decided to finish The Fiery Cross this month (I'm listening it for a challenge) which meant that I've had to listen to 5+ hours a day since I last posted on the 26th, as I still had 26 hrs. to go. I have to say I'm tired of the book and I want it to be over! Def. the weakest of the series so far.
DG - it wasn't my favorite in the series, but there are some bits and pieces that happen which are significant down the road...the next two are more focused on the lead up to the american revolution and the revolution itself
I figured, Dee. I was enjoying it when I was listening 1-2 hours a day while reading other books but I'm not finding it as interesting when reading exclusively. I'm like...who cares about Brianna's dreams! (LOL!)I'm def. not jumping to listen to the next one...probably next year and I'll set apart 3 months to listen to it so I can go at it slowly. :)
a lot of people say that about it...I read it on deployment when it first came out...so I had to savor it because it was one of two books that I took with me (due to weigh issues with our baggage)
Dee wrote: "a lot of people say that about it...I read it on deployment when it first came out...so I had to savor it because it was one of two books that I took with me (due to weigh issues with our baggage)"Oh Lord! I cannot imagine only taking 2 books anywhere, even one as big as this one. :)
Dee wrote: "I took it and The Historian...and then utilized amazon...haha!"LOL! How's The Historian? I have it in Print and it's available on audiobook from the library but I never feel like reading it.
it was ok....Idon't remember much about it, but at the time, I pseudo-enjoyed it...I have her ohter book on the pile and just haven't been motivated ot pick it up though
@ Tara I remember that feeling of disorientation too! I think I went to the shop and checked the paper version to see that I wasn't missing the first few chapters or something. I adore Jamie & Claire (well, mostly Jamie :)...) so I had no trouble listening to it - I have the audible download so I didn't have to worry about changing discs which probably would have driven me mad. @ DG Vile Temptress - I can't imagine listening for 5+ hours a day because I had to meet a challenge! I guess there have been days where I might have listened close to that many hours, but only when I really wanted to and not for days on end - I think that would make it difficult to enjoy any book - it's hard to concentrate and enjoy when you're thinking about all the things you're not getting done! :)
The Historian...I enjoyed the audio although I've noticed polarity in reviews. Some people really hated it. The actor who voices Dracula gives it his all in a Bela Lugosi Transylvanian kind of way. I think (or hope) he was going for high camp because that's the way I heard it.

I'm actually ahead of schedule so to speak and should finish it tomorrow. :)
And anyhow, it's not as if I've had much to do in the last week. I hurt my back and cannot sit or walk much, so for several days I've had nothing to do but lie down and listen to the book. :(
Vinity wrote: "I'm currently doing a relisten to Rob Thurman's Trick of the Light. It's Urban Fantasy along the lines of Jim Butcher...."Vinity - just wanted to say thanks for the post about Rob Thurman's Trick of the Light. I hadn't read any of her work and had passed this one by but after your comment, I took a second look and made it one of my last listens in May. I enjoyed it quite a bit more than I thought I would. I think this is one of those books that hit the jackpot in terms of story/narrator match-up.
I finished Summer of Two Wishes and decided I needed a break from angst. I decided to re-listen to Faro's Daughter By Georgette Heyer, narrated by the wonderful Eve Matheson. I'll count this as my SOA Listing Challenge "Re-listen to an old favorite." Summer of Two Wishes was not a total success for me. I thought the book was depressing, and personally didn't consider it a "happy ending." I don't think there could be a happy ending for this story. I also ended up not liking most of the characters, and the sex scenes between Macy and both her "husbands" were a real turn-off, since I couldn't feel she was being honest with anyone. (Made me feel squicky.)
The June "Listening To" thread is up ... I'm behind on Visions of Heat Paula, but looking forward to catching up.:)

You're so welcome - how delightful that you heard it. Hopefully you enjoyed it a lot, as it is featured in all of the books :) Now to develop Romanian and French!
