How much do you read each week?

I never have enough time to read it seems. During the summer I can read about 1-2 books per week... but during the school year when I am at college it seems much less than that. I wish I had more time though
I just managed to sneak in a scene of Spider Bites and a few pages of Fort Freak. In other words I am still biting off a little of different stuff whenever I can. I also got in a super hero comic book and a section of Poets and Writer's Magazine.
I am a slow reader, but I read a lot every day. When reading fantasy I normally get through a hundred pages or so a day, but when I read other genres I find that I manage rather fewer pages than that. As a rule though, I usually try to read at least one book per week.
i read at least a hour every day, it relaxes me. its not that time consuming and i get something out of it, unlike watching tv. i also read faster when reading my favorite genres.
I sympathize with everyone who doesn't have enough time to read! I read extremely fast and can finish a 700 page novel in about 12 hours (or less if I drop everything to read it!). Given everything else I have to do in life, I just don't have time to finish that many books. That's one of the reasons I joined Goodreads and this group...to make reading more of a priority.
I haven't been much of a reader when I was young. For a couple of years I found the right genre for me and became a fast reader. I like to read whenever there is time like during the train ride, between classes, etc. So one book in one week or two.
I read every night before I fall asleep. Most nights my book ends up on my face because I drift off after reading for awhile. I can tell you this has become quite painful since my wife got me a Kindle for my birthday ;)
I usually finish 1-3 books a week depending on the books. It just seems that the list of books I want to read keeps growing almost exponentially no matter how fast I read.
A week on holiday showed me that I can read 3-4 books a week as long as I don't have to go to work. A normal week, I'm lucky to make it 1-2 books :(
About 4 books a week, of course, if I manage to find that much books to readedit: I´ve read 122 books this year
I've read 116 books so far this year. I wonder how many in a week that is? 26 weeks so far, so 4.46 books per week.
I'm averaging around 700-1000 pages a week. I'm on a summer internship during the day and have free evenings, so I have a lot of free time!
Not nearly as much as I would like to ;-(But I do read at least a few pages each day in the morning before writing...and almost always a chapter before going to sleep.
Cory wrote: "Well i mostly read 200-300 page books. Just started a 1200 page book. this one will take a while!"I've done the math. You normally ready 400-900 pages a week. So a 1200 page book should take you 1.3-3 weeks to complete!
...We'll be watching!
My reading is about evenly split between fiction and nonfiction. Usually fiction is a much faster read for me--I can whip through 2-300 pages in a day. Nonfiction, especially stuff that takes lots of concentration, slows me down to maybe a hundred pages or so.I used to do more, but my eyes are getting old and tired.
I read around a book a day on weekdays and more on weekends. Especially if the book is good, I am dead to the world till I finish it :D --> TV?Food?Sleep? What are those? :P
I try to average 50 pages a day. I *want* to read more than that, of course, and I often do; but I still feel like I made progress thst way, even if it's been a busy day.
50 pages a day. Although It could be less (life, boring book, etc) or more (final third of a book, can't sleep.) I have read before bed since I was 10 and always set a goal. 25 pages as a kid. It 50 as an adult.
It depends, sometimes I can read a book in a weekend and sometimes it will take me a month. I do tend to read more than one book at once though.
I normally read for an hour on the train each day and then for at least two hours in the evening. So normally about 3 hours per day in the week and then more on the weekend.
I always try to read at lunch and right before bed, so 2 hours a day is my goal I'd say. However, if the book is boring or is grreat, my time really varies quite dramatically.
My current score is;1.7 books/week
565 pages/week
mostly I can read only in nights and at the weekends, but I wish to read at least 1000 pages/week.
I usually finish a book and start reading another every 5-7 days. I tend to read alot at night, when it's quieter.
IF: What do you think is the purpose of Fantasy?K.R.: I think getting to transport the reader to a place that is impossible in our reality is an excellent reason to enjoy fantasy. Science has taken us far, but experiencing the wonder of an enchanted object or transforming into a bird through a magic spell to soar, is something that is exciting to dream about. Imagination is fundamentally important, as without it, we couldn't achieve as much as we have - our
species I mean - and dreaming of the impossible, often leads us to find ways to make it happen in our world through creativity and ingenuity.
Fantasy is a driving force.
I'm able to read and work and can average about 100-200 pages in an 8 hour shift. More if I work overtime. At home I read sporadically when time allows, usually about 1-2 hours at home. I average 2-4 books a week, but if work is busy or I'm not really into what I'm reading it can go down to 1 a week or less.
Wow I'm so amazed how much people are able to read. I read at night before bed. I usually aim for about an hour. I've become more disciplined as I've got older (I know, it's scary), as it used to be common to stay up as late as possible to finish a book. Alas, that was pre children. I average about 1-2 books a week. Of course sometimes 1 book might take 3 weeks or 1 book might take a couple of nights depending on length and my level of interest.
I used to read a lot more than now. I have 3 kids so time is limited. I have read about 90 books this year so maybe 2 or 3 a week sometimes more.

I really should take a class on speedier reading. I do read a lot but get less far than I would like.
I read differently now (kids).I used to read in 4-5 hour blocks of time once or twice a week. Now because of my schedule I read every single day but it's in 30 minute blocks of time. I read a lot more books these days (100-150/year) but they are shorter books - I used to devour 1000 page books but I tend to read quite a bit more 300 page books these days.
Delia wrote: "If I had enough money I'd probably read a book everyday. They're so expensive though, so it's more like 2 a week."Its cheaper once you discover the marvel that is torrent downloading.
I probably read two to three books a week on average, which since I work 65 hours a week, is a lot.
Depends, a book a week would be ideal, but I read several books at any time, so there's that. I do read read for at least a few hours every day, though.
I know a lot of people who now listen to audiobooks during their commute. They manage to read a lot of books that way!
S.J. wrote: "I know a lot of people who now listen to audiobooks during their commute. They manage to read a lot of books that way!"I've tried that, I just hate audiobooks, it goes so slow.
Sometimes I'll have the horrible computer voice in the kindle or google play books app read to me while I drive, but its not ideal.
I can usually read 3 books a week, but lately it´s been a book and couple of manga. Books are my passion, but manga. I regard manga and comics (some) as the highest art possible so I don´t usually mix them with literature. Since I have a lot of books (asian) to read weekly for university (and I do count them) I can read about one that I´ve chosen myself + manga.
I´m not complaining, since all of my uni must reads are interesting!
