One to four books a week, depending on how long the books are and how busy I am doing other stuff.

For example, I should be working on my 8 to 10 page essay that's due tonight but I just want to read. Work also takes away a ton of time - I originally had today off, but now I have to go in for a 6 hour shift. Six hours that I could be reading!
I miss the days where I read a book a day. I ignored everything else though...
I guess I don't read very much, especially compared to all of you! It's sort of disappointing for me, but I'm always too busy (or think I'm too busy) to sit down and pick up a book. I'd say I get a 3 or 4 books read a month, but I'd love to have the free time to read more than that!
Varies greatly by the week, I would say, but I make a fairly concentrated effort to be reading something every night for at least a little bit. Keeps the mind fresh.
It varies by the week. I usually get the most reading done on weekends but I try to get a least a few pages a night. If only I didn't have to work to earn a living.
I am a lunatic and read when I should be sleeping, working (I work from home) or doing household chores. So I read 3-4 lengthy books a week.
I am currently self-employed so I can read during my downtime. I am probably averaging 4 - 6 hours per day reading but I'm also doing a lot of writing and research.Back when I was employed by someone else, I could still average that same amount per day. My co-workers used to tease me because I would come to work with a different book every other day.
I read quite a bit during the day. It is close to 5 hours a day on days I work, and close to 8 on days I don't work. I have a full time job, with a total 1.5 hour drive time, where I listen to audiobooks. I also watch 2 - 3 hours of either tv or movies at night, and I am a full time student enrolled in online courses. I average 3 - 6 books a week, depending on size and if I really like the book.
Mine's dropped as I'm getting lifts to and from work, the bus journey was 40 mins reading each way. However, the lift is about 15 mins so at least I save time there.
I try to read as much as I possibly can. These days it's almost exclusively eBooks. But I do prefer the feel of a good old fashioned paperback over an eBook any day. It's just easier to pull out my phone and get in a few minutes here and there. :)If I had to estimate... anywhere from 120-180 minutes a week. And I'd love to read more than that.
I'm trying to read about 100 pages per day. Additionally, I am listening to audiobooks on my way to / from the university, which sums up to about 1 hour of audiobook per day.Would love to read more, but the University has a tight grip around my time schedule.
If I really love a book though, I spend almost all my time with it, and do as little for the university as possible.
I've been thinking on getting a kindle to be able to more easily take books with me to read on the go, but I am too much in love with a full bookshelf to get all my books as eBooks. I guess I got that from my parents, who are also book lovers.
I read about 50-100 pages each day total. Probably around 30-50 pages at night in bed and 20-50 pages during the day whenever I have some free time.
Most of the reading I do is while at work, where I get enough free time to read about 50-60 pages a day. Less often I read at home, usually at night up to 30-40 pages. Rarely, if some weekends are really empty of things to do, I can read up to 150-200 pages.
I've started going to bed an hour earlier to fit in more reading. Also, most of my weekends end up with reading heavily featured.
I keep waking up earlier and earlier to get more reading done in the morning. I'm up at four now most days. I'm lucky to carpool with someone who doesn't care that I read on the way to work. So before work I can get about 2 hours of reading. Lunch for about 30 minutes. Another 30 minutes or so on the way home. Maybe about 2-3 hours at home. When I'm off I have no idea.....alot.
I don't start reading until after the kids are in bed at night. I've got a one year old and a four year old, so time during the day is rare. I'll read during the commercials while I watch my shows, or I might get a solid hour or two in if there's nothing I'm interested in watching on TV.
One to two books per week, but always twice: the first time for speed and the second time for detail, so that slows things down a bit.
I read every night before bed. I literally cannot fall asleep unless I read. My wife laughs at me because she stays up later than me, and when she comes into the room I'm always laying there with the book on my face fast asleep. That might get painful when I start reading from my Kindle!
I read a few hours a day. It usually takes me a couple of weeks to read a book, unless its incredibly long or incredibly boring. A really good book I will finish a couple of days to a week.
I have a slow compute, which can take a while to boot up, so I get through at least 10 pages of my current book every morning whilst I wait for it to load. I also like to read for about 15mins before I go to bed, so all up (at least 30 pages a day). Of course, when I'm only holidays, it can be as much as a book a day, but I don't get so many of them any more :(
I read 2-4 books every week probably. With the combination of audiobooks and e-reader (and e-reader app on my phone) I am almost always reading in one way or another :)I feel a little guilty when I sneak away during my lunch hour to read rather than hang out in the lunch room, but if I am reading a really good book I want to read as much as I can as often as I can!

Oooo! I wish I could read that much, but balancing teaching and writing makes that difficult. Audiobooks. Hmmm... I haven't listened to one in a while.

I bike to work everyday. That is at least one hour of "reading" right there. I also listen when I clean, or do dishes or anything else that doesn´t need all of my mental attention. It makes the chore a lot more fun too :)
I have a 45 minute commute each way to work & an audio book keeps me sane in traffic. The library even has them for free download. The selection isn't all that I'd like it to be & there can be some amazing glitches*, but all in all, they're wonderful.* I wanted to listen to a trilogy by Robin Hobb & downloaded the books. Knowing that there can be issues, I generally play a few files of each book, especially if something looks hinky, like a super short file size. I noticed that the other two books had quite a few more files than the last one, so I checked. Something was messed up & they only had 1/2 the 3d book of the trilogy available. Wrote to tech support. 3 freaking months & innumerable emails later, they finally fixed the file!!! Thank you, Audible One-Click.

Yeah. I have chores I have been putting off. An audio book would make for a good pleasure accompaniment.

It depends on the week. Some weeks a book every day, some weeks I'm lucky if I have time to read one. I suppose an average would be two or three.
Every now and then, the minutiae of college life gets in the way but more often than not, I get through a typical book in 3-4 days. Sometimes though when life does get hectic, it may take grueling weeks to make time for it. Or when I'm just in the mood for quickscoping in MW3. I suck at it but its nevertheless fun.
It depends. If I am reading something new,I will bast through it over a weekend. However, I tend to re-read my favorite books, and I go through these a lot slower. On average, I get an hour a day of good solid reading time. Actually, I have to read in order to fall asleep.
I tend to go to extremes. I either finish a book in a couple of days, usually over the weekend where I cram 2-4 hours of reading, oooor it would take me a month to finish a book spending around 4 hours of reading over the whole week
Maurice wrote: "Yeah. I have chores I have been putting off. An audio book would make for a good pleasure accompaniment. "It sure does! *headphones on and its time to fold some laundry*
I think I am averaging 4 books a month. It's a bit less when I stick to the classics, they are huge and I like to take my time and actually think through them! I have to admit that I am a waitress, and I do read at work. My boss thinks I am reading school coarse work, but that usually takes 15minutes of my day!
With school I'd say one to two hours a day. Without school probably around four or so. Might take me a week on a Wheel of Time book, but a Dean Koontz or Patterson novel might take me two days. Differs on the amount of words the books have. :P
I try to read at least a chapter every day, cos I know that if I stopped reading for more days I wouldnt pick a book for a long time most probably, like before... during my workdays (after work I mean) I can read 20 to 40 pages a day, and on days off (cos of my bad time management) 50 to over 100 pages, depending on how soon I manage to start reading that day lol... so you can see I am not a lightning fast reader but I am trying my best at keeping a good pace... I got quite a lot of tomes haha...still it takes me a couple weeks to finish a thick tome... my best was A feast for crows in two weeks but that was rare cos I had a lot of time hehe :)
I still buy my books, I am not eating them for breakfast, so it is affordable :)...
I try to read 5 - 7 hours a week. As a high school teacher, I don't have much free time, but I push a few hours around so I can read for pleasure. I just finished The Hunger Games trilogy, at my students' behest, and I quite enjoyed making time to read.Summer is when I read voraciously, though, and it'll be here soon enough ;)
I try to read an hour a day Mon-Fri and on weekends I'll wrap up the book if it's not finished and start a new one :) If I'm strict about this, I'll have 4 or 5 books a month. The problem is the weekends are never predictable and I don't always have the same amount of time! I'm listening to a pretty big audio book (Game of Thrones) during times I can't read my other books, aka doing chores or driving, so I'm always reading when I can!
I read in any free time i get. Even if it's 5 min. I can manage 2 books a week easy. Sometimes I can do twice that, but then I don't get any other work done.
It's really variable for me. Since I just got a Nook, I find I'm reading more lately; I live in the boonies and it's hard to get books in "real life", so the Nook is an easy fix for me. There are times when I get so engrossed in a series that that's all I do for however long it takes to finish it, sometimes twice; I read all seven Harry Potter books, for example, in a two-week stint, with potty breaks & work thrown in there. If I'm writing more, I read less. Also if I'm writing at work (technical) I read and write less at home.
It really depends, sometimes I spend a week not reading anything, but last month I've had a lot of time to spend so I read about 4-6 books a week. I have my periods when I'm really addicted to just books in general, doesn't have to be one book. If that's the case then sometimes I don't do anything but read for days.
Wow, I must be a seriously slow reader. I think I've only read about 7 books so far this year, and this is with reading at least an hour everyday. In my defence, I do tend to read big door-stopper books. Even so, most of you guys put me to shame!

That gets harder and harder to do. Gotta have large blocks of time. But it's the immersion that I love.
Me, too, Maria. If I only read an hour a day I would spend half the time trying to remember what happened so far. And half the time I'm so caught up I can't stop!

I also love it when you get so caught up in a book you have to finish it as soon as possible.

My reading is confined to the time I spend on the bus each weekday. I value this transition through another realm between work and home because it gives me some much needed down time to let go of one set of issues before I have to take up another set.Currently, my 'other world' on the bus is the creation of the author of A Discovery of Witches. I've read good and bad reviews of this book and I'm in the process of making up my own view.
