I think it is a good first novel. I have another one almost ready to publish titled Antlers that I've been told is even better. It features the same two main characters along with a few of the auxilary characters, but is set in Washington state. I think both will be good reads and I think I have a couple more rattling around in my brain for this character (Dr. Bill Spence).
