Alternate ending please

I really enjoyed this book - the pace and the plot. The only thing it would change is it never got into the details of the relationship or future relationship between the two main characters. It ended with a "fade-out" for the reader to use there imagination - I hate that... The author is the wordsmith, give me a scene for my imagination to embrace... I think the author was trying to go for the PG-13 rating when an alternate ending bumping us up to an R might have been more fun. If anything I would say Ms. Briggs doesn't get bogged down by a sex scene - she avoids them entirely, with a kiss or glance here & there to maintain tension.

Other than that - great book, great characters and I would love to see the Shark get his own book. :) This has been republished with much more fashionable outwear - and originally came out in '98 so maybe he does have a story... hmmm :)

I so agree - I can IMAGINE lots but it would be nice to see what the author thought...

I thought it would be more interesting if Sham's parents were the King and Queen before the take over. She would have been the princess studying to be a magician. The rightful heir to the throne.

The next book could be her trying to take back her land.It also it would make it more complicated between her and Kermin. Would he be loyal to Sham or his country? What do you think?
