I'm on Facebook but don't care for it too much. I am also on My Space, Shelfari and some other social networks. I find Facebook boring to be honest and don't know what the hype is about it. I can't get into it. It's like there seems to be no interaction there even if it is.

I try to at least check my Facebook everyday just to see if I have some friend requests to approve but other than that, I don't stick around. I am beginning to think the folks who invented Facebook are the ones who put out all the hype about it was better than My Space, LOL. My Space isn't perfect but at least when I am there I can feel a presence, LOL. Facebook, I don't know, just feels dead to me. They could liven up the site with more colors other than white and blue. Maybe that's one of the problems. If the site looks boring it's gonna BE boring. Also, do they even have a bulletins section? Anyway, feel free to send me an invite and I'd love to add you. Okay so I had a facebook account that I opened long ago but never got into it. I checked it out after this post and I still exist... go figure.

Tera, did you add the Pieces of Flair app? It's on your "Boxes" tab on the "new" FB. I don't think you can move them over anymore.

It's in my "boxes" but I was hoping there was a way it was displayed on my home page like the goodreads app is. Either I cant figure it out or it isnt. I also was hoping Pandora had that same feature because I love pandora but I cant seem to find that either.

I looked into Myspace once long ago and it was full of too many teenagers for me. Facebook is borderline for me as is.

One of the assistant principals at the school I used to work at is doing her dissertation on the ways that teenagers communicate. I was surprised when she told me two years ago that email is "out" and the MySpace/Facebook stuff is the primary form of communication for the younger generation. But, now I can totally see it!

i, too am on facebook, after much resistance. To be honest, I was bored one Friday afternoon at work and decided to check it out. I've actually reconnected with quite a few high school buddies, which has been great because we were supposed to have a 15 year reunion this year but didn't. I'm still a little unsure of it, as I've gotten friend requests from people I barely knew or didn't like in h.s... just ignored those. After working in TV news as long as I did and doing all the stories on what teens and college kids are doing on myspace, I didn't want to mess with it. I like that Facebook can be basic. Meg and Tera, thanks for the friend requests! Honestly, i prefer goodreads to facebook for socializing!

I prefer goodreads too. But I did connect with a couple of people I hadn't seen in a long time and that was fun.
Flair is one of those silly applications you can add. I finally figured out (on accident I think) how to add it to my profile page. If you look on the bottom left side of my page youll see a bunch of pins. I think the one showing big is a Seattle pin and you can scroll through the others I have. I made a Chicks on Lit one with our icon chicken to add too.

I prefer goodreads for a lot of things; however, I play games etc on facebook and have fun there too. I am loving having goodreads friends on facebook as well. I have a new name for us, the people on chicks are chiklits!

Teri I had issues with it at first too and I went to their discussion boards and saw others struggling with it. I don't have a mac though so I'm not sure if that adds to the problem. The only way I could get it on my profile was a really odd way of going to the edit screen for applications and messing with it there. Check the discussion boards on the flair and they may have mac knowledge.

I've been having issues with Flair as well. And I don't like that your Flair board has to be relegated to the "boxes" tab. That weird left-hand box is annoying to me. Before the "new" FB I was on that app all the time.

I hadn't heard of Flair. I'll have to check that one out. I don't have a Mac either although I really want one. Does anyone here use Twitter? I do but don't update it as much since I don't know that many people on there. It's fun to do too and addictive.
