What are you reading?
I finished reading
by Heather Gudenkauf yesterday - It's a brilliant novel. I couldn't put it down! I honestly couldn't recommend it highly enough. Now I'm about to start the 9th book in the Stephanie Plum series
by Janet Evanovich.
I've just finished Tiffany Trent's take on steampunk, "The Unnaturalists", and I'm now due to start on "Gone Girl".
I just finished
by Camilla Lackberg, the second in her series and another very enjoyable read. I'm now about to start
, #1 in the Wine Country series Ellen Crosby. Does anyone have an opinion on this series.
I finished The Paris Wife by Paula McLain. An interesting look at Ernest Hemmingway told through the perspective of his first wife. Reminded me a lot of Loving Frank by Nancy Horan. Brooding artists, multiple wives.....Now I'm reading A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin. Came recommended by my brother.

I just finished both
and
I loved both. They had me crying and laughing. Reading
and
now. They are fascinating me so far.

I hear ya. It took me a long time before I finally decided it was the right time. I was considering another reread of The Hobbit and thought why not start The Fire and Ice Series instead.

I love Heather Gudenkaug, she has yet to write a book that I haven't loved. If you have not read her other books:
or
, I would recommend them. Plus, I like the fact she lives in my state, Iowa, and has done a number of Author Skype visits for libraries, etc.

I'm reading Eclipse of the Twilight series in hardcopy (don't judge...I'm came late into this...I got suckered into it against my will!!!)And Ice Cold by Tess Gerritsen (the US name is different but it's novel no 9 in the series anyways)
I'm halfway through Gone Girl
and there isn't one of these characters I would want in my life. I'm enjoying the book, and they're holding my interest, but these people are basketcases from the starting bell on, and more than once I've asked "what in god's name do you SEE in him/her?" about just about every one.
Emilly R wrote: "Hi ,today is my birthday my fiance gave me "FIFTY SHADES OF GRAY"BY EL.JAMES,i hope i like it"Happy birthday, Emily!
I'm reading Sea of Poppies and struggling to get through it. I think I am going to have to put this one away for awhile. I have I Claudius waiting on my bedside table that I am going to start tonight.

After I finish "The Lucky One," whenever that is, I plan to read a book by my good friend, Josh Voyles. His book is called "Sliver." After that, I have about 20 books that I have backlogged. I have a lot of catching up to do, don't I? :)
Becuase the book arrived on my desk before closing yesterday, I started reading After the Fog. I am finding this book hard to put down.
Every Love Story Is a Ghost Story: A Life of David Foster Wallace .It's the new biography of David Foster Wallace.
I've finished the 9th book in the Stephanie Plum series (and the best one so far)
by Janet Evanovich. Now I'm reading
by Donald McCaig. It's Gone With the Wind from Rhett Butler's point of view.
Shaun wrote: "Just started The Lincoln Lawyer by Michael Connelly"Hope you're enjoying it Shaun, I thought it was very good.

I was reading The Hunchback of Notre-Dame but I put it down for a little while, and then I got distracted by another book, which is The Face by Angela Elwell Hunt.

Just finished reading Jim Baggott's new book called 'Higgs: The Invention and Discovery of the 'God Particle''. The book discusses the recent discovery of the Higgs boson, of course, but it also does an excellent job of explaining the development of the Standard Model of particle physics (which theory is our best explanation of matter and force, and the theory of which the Higgs boson is a part). The book provides just what the general reader needs to understand the discovery of the Higgs boson and what it all means. I've written an executive summary of the book available here:http://newbooksinbrief.wordpress.com/...
Cheers,

Just finished Graveminder by Melissa Marr. Strange, not really sure I understood it,but it did make a good Halloween read.
Well, I finished A Game of Thrones which was a great read and I have a hold on A Clash of Kings but in the mean time I'm reading something completely different, Tipping the Velvet and then hopefully Dead and Gone.
I'm currently reading The Beautiful Mystery by Louise Penny. I'm always astonished how the author can make you feel so emotionally connected to the characters.
Paula wrote: "I'm reading
and loving it so far."Hope you're enjoying it. I liked this one as well as her others.

I was glad to read your post about this book, because it was a book I was considering. After finishing a book by Clive Barker (good but creepy), I need something uplifting. I will add your book to my list.
