I actually am in love with this trilogy read the first 2 but saving the third because I don't want it to finish. Its not a book I would normally read but I am so glad I have.

I found the book to be an emotional read such as frustration, anger, disbelief, etc.

100 Vegetables... Trying to garden & LOVE the amazing historical information brought to light by this wonderful author!

Two novels of Nora Roberts made me her ANTI-fun. I never took any of her books in my hands. They were boring, slow, and so not true; even they supposed to be about real people and real life situations. One book about grandmother who was in past Russian ballerina makes me laugh because even wrong not existing Russian names were used and so on... But I never heard about Nora Roberts "magic realism” novels. Can you give me titles, please; maybe I will try them to change my negative attitude about this writer

Jewels of the Sun
Tears of the Moon - all these have an Irish flaver
Heart of the Sea
Key of Light - little witchcraft
Key of Valor
Key of Knowledge
Blood Brothers
The Hollow - a little Stephen King ish
Pagan Stone
Dance on Air
Heavan and Earth - probably the most fun
Face the Fire
I liked the 1st set best though, although its' romance-y. Let me know what you think.

Love that book. Let me know what you think in the end.

Pat Conroy is one of my favorite authors, let me know how that goes!

I'm hesitant to even pick a next book.

Will do, Tellulah!

Beach Music is one of my favorite books, Patricia. Let me know what you think of it when you're finished."
Michael & Kyle,
I'm really enjoying Beach Music so far. I loved The Prince of Tides but was just so so on South of Broad. So far Beach Music reminds me of a better executed version of South of Broad. I watched a video about Pat Conroy's upbringing and definitely see it's influence on his work. I'll let you know my thoughts when I finish.

I haven't read that one of his but I can recommend In the Garden of Beasts: Love and Terror in Hitler's Berlin if you haven't read this one. It was a bit of an "eye opener" for me.
Long time no post for me!
I am reading Jac Jemc's My Only Wife, which is really good. I recently finished Amelia Gray's Threats: A Novel.
Funny connections between these two books - which was completely unknown and unintentional to me:
Both are written by women, and contain a male lead character. Both male characters have lost their wives and are grieving them. And Amelia Gray blurbed Jac Jemc's novel...

I just finished House of Sand and Fog, which I just couldn't put down.
I also recently finished The Devil in the White City: Murder, Magic, and Madness at the Fair that Changed America, and liked it a lot. I agree that the two narratives weren't well-linked, but thought they were both well done and needed each other.
I really enjoyed The Likeness too, but recommend you skip Faithful Place, which is next in the series.

Oh shoot, I just bought Faithful Place. It looks to be a bit shorter of a read so I'll go ahead and read it.

Well, hopefully you'll like it! I just thought it really couldn't compare to the first two.

I usually feel that way when borrowing books from friends, lol. Finished my own Sookie book, Dead Reckoning, as I'm sure you saw in the Cozy Mysteries group. Now to await the latest coming my way from the same friend who loaned me this one. *g*

I'm new to this group (but not to goodreads) and thought I'd share some recent good reads. I loved The Thousand Autumns of Joseph De Zoet; not light reading but well worth it. Very much enjoyed A Monster Calls, an illustrated YA novel that tackles a tough topic. Am currently rereading A Wrinkle in Time, which I probably last read many decades ago. I need to learn how to hyperlink to titles! Am now looking for a good, meaty "summer" read. Two I really liked in recent years were The Passage and The Gargoyle. Any suggestions along those lines would be appreciated.
