Just a reader of all three (so far) of Tana French's novels. I enjoyed them all. I'd have to go back to The Woods to know why some others were disappointed. I liked Faithful Place the best because of the romance angle and the crazy dysfunctional families.

I am about to begin The Best a Man Can Get: A Novel.

I am currently reading Mile 81 and I should be able to finish that on the way home so that I can start The Wind Through the Keyhole tonight.

I've read the entire series. you will not be disappointed.

Hi Angela, I read Les Mis a few months ago and agree - awesome novel but way too long! It's so beautifully written though, otherwise I may have had to give up before I finally got through it. In the end I think it was worth it. I've seen the play and really liked it, but the movie (the one with Liam Neeson) was incredibly disappointing. They didn't capture the powerful, charismatic, kindhearted essence of Valjean at all. Anyway, hang in there, you'll be glad you stuck with it!

Agreed. I really enjoyed that series, too.
I just finished The Cat's Table and didn't enjoy it.
However, I just started The Monk and it's going to be a fun read, I think. Very humerous.

Reading Jose Saramago's Manual of Painting and Calligraphy. This is his first novel, but the newest to be translated.
SO unlike his others. You can tell he was much much younger when he wrote this one!

Ellie, I've read GWTW 25 times and it STILL is one of my TOP favorites. Hope you enjoy it! I must re-read it

I am still currently reading

Hi Tess: I loved that book - how are you liking it?
I've started May's group read
The Descendants - I bought the book for my e-reader several months ago and am finally getting to read it. It appears to be a fast read.

Can't wait to hear your thoughts, Fifty Shades has certainly received a lot of press lately.

Anne, how are you liking The Grapes of Wrath? I read East of Eden and really liked that but have never read The Grapes........

Love The Likeness. Did you read the first one in the series? In The ..."
Yes. I do. :)

Reading Murder Your Darlings

Cheers,
Aaron

Hurray for starting Divergent at last! Not far into it, but enjoying it already. Should be a nice quick read to serve a break before I venture back into the world of French literature with The Count of Monte Cristo.
Also working on The Lord of the Rings, which is a reread so I'm not as concerned about reading it regularly.

Hurra..."
I had a tough time with The Phantom of the Opera when I read it too, but I liked The Count of Monte Cristo quite a bit; it was easier to follow for me. I hope you find similar success. I also loved Divergent and am excited because I just got the sequel, Insurgent:)

Anne - Don't be scared off because of the ending of
In the Woods. It is definitely worth reading and introduces you to some characters that are in The Likeness. IMO, they are well written books and hard to put down.
