Two more down. 27 left in this batch. I love when I get near the end of a set of 8 or 10, and I'm so close to being done with most of them that they fall like dominoes. Accomplishment, and off to a new bunch, all at the same time.

The Reversal -- didn't see the end of this one coming!

The Winter Garden Mystery -- the second in this series. Took me a bit to get absorbed in it but it paid off in the end. The first one was the same way for me.

I just finished The Hour I First Believed, it started off compelling but the author added too much detail that I felt drained. I love his writing style but it was not very consistent, hence the low rating it received.

I am about to begin I'll Be Watching You. I read one of her other novels-Wrong Place, Wrong Time and was disappointed. On the other hand, I decided to give her another chance.

I subscribe to Granta so I'm dipping in and out of Granta 118: Exit Strategies. I'm also reading The Driver's Seat - both of those are in paperback. On my Kindle I'm reading a collection of short stories: Jumble Tales.

I just finished Before I Go to Sleep and thought it was brilliant.

If you look just above the box where you enter your text, you'll see a link that says "add book/author" (to the left of where it says "(some html is ok)".

Finished As The Pig Turns and was busily congratulating myself that I'm all caught up on this author when I found out she has published not one, but two more Hamish MacBeth since last I checked. Sigh. This one wasn't bad. She's been phoning them in somewhat the last couple years but still highly readable.

Currently in the middle of Friday Mornings at Nine and Last Car To Elysian Fields from my enormous current reads batch, and about to start on Death by Diamonds , Crocodile on the Sandbank and Deeply, Desperately . Once those five are finished, I'll have 21 left in this batch. Making headway!

In general I liked it because I loved the whole series, but Mockingjay was my least favorite of the three. It took me a lot longer to get through it, partially because it was just so different than the first two and also because I didn't really want it all to be over, if that makes sense.

Finally I got a hold of on books from my written to-read list (I also have mental to-read list and anything to-read list which is included any books from some writers I read a lot of anything that they produced)]. So, this book from my written list is The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood and I love it so far (I'm about 1/4 part right now). Many book resently I liked from beginning (like His Other Wife: A Novel by Deborah Bedford ) but it was getting worse and worse during progressing to the end and by finishing I already didn't like this book/s
But I already have experience with other Atwood's book "The cat's eye" and I liked this book, so I hope I will not have my opinion from positive to negative also about book I'm reading now

Finished reading The Lincoln Lawyer by Michael Connelly before work this morning (great suspense!). Am about to start Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet by Jamie Ford.

I read 77 Shadow Street also and liked it pretty well but haven't read any of Koontz's other works, so nothing to compare it with. I have heard that others didn't think it was that great either, compared to his earlier books.

After discussing the American Literature Renaissance in my U.S. History class today, I'm feeling the urge to tackle some James Fenimore Cooper (The Leatherstocking Series) and revisit some transcendental poetry from Thoreau and Emerson.

Getting in touch with my American roots is always a gratifying feeling. :)

I just finished that book, Paula. It was utterly fascinating.

I sent The Secret History of the Pink Carnation back to the library without finishing it. I got a third of the way through and just did not care what happened. Now I'm reading Beneath a Silent Moon, which so far is not as good as the first in the series. Maybe I need to stop reading until I get over this sinus infection and strep throat, nothing seems to be making me happy, LOL!

I am currently reading The Night Circus, which is proving to be a really interesting novel. I normally wouldn't have read it, but it was so highly recommended that I finally gave it a chance. Really glad thus far that I have. I am about 200+ pages into it.

I just finished "The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks," which my book club discussed last night. Interesting. I also finished "The Dyslexic Advantage" and "Proust and the Squid" this week.

Up next is "The Hunger Games," which wasn't even on my to-read list but should be quick and good for discussion.

I'm also listening to "Artemis Fowl: The Lost Colony" with my son, and I'll begin listening to "Devil in the White City" this afternoon on my commute home from work.
