I'm not usually a Stephen King fan,but this sounds right up my alley. I came of age in the late 60's,and have a yen for slightly paranormal events.
I am about to begin The Threshing Floor: How to Know Without a Doubt that God Hears Your Every Prayer.
I started a full length poem called How to Build the Ghost in Your Attic published by Rose Metal Press. It's interesting but man.. I need a dictionary to read it :) The author uses some words I've never seen before!!
I just finished and reviewed The Cello Suites: In Search of a Baroque Masterpiece by Eric Siblin. I will continue with the first book I received through BookMooch: Dead Until Dark
I just finished The Woman in Black: A Ghost Story by Susan Hill. It is a good creepy read. I liked it alot and would recommend it.
I just finished When the Bough Breaks by Jonathan Kellerman and just started Hostile Witness by Rebecca Forester. Reading Hostile Witness on my new Kindle Fire. So far this book is really good. I'll probably be trying new authors because I'll not pay full price for a book on the Kindle Fire.
About to start reading Steve Himmer's short story The Second Most Dangerous Job In America - soon to be published by Atticus Books!!!

and then the book I ordered a week (or two?) ago arrived in the mail today;
! I think I'll have to divide my time...

I say, go for it." While I am a Stephen King fan, I have also had my share of disappointments with him. This one is definitely not one of those. It is great from start to finish.
I just finished Revolution in World Missions,it was a very captivating book about the mission field.I am about to begin IT'S NOT OVER UNTIL YOU WIN: How to Become the Person You Want to Be -- No Matter What the Obstacle.
Linda said: "I say, go for it." While I am a Stephen King fan, I have also had my share of disappointments with him. This one is definitely not one of those. It is great from start to finish."Linda: I'm so glad to hear that it didn't disappoint you. I'm a huge SK fan, there's just something about his writing that grabs me, but I too have had my share of disappointments with him. Some of his books are so good and then when you get to the ending you're some how let down. Like Under the Dome. I really thought it was sooo good and then when the explanation was presented I was very disappointed. Kind of like the LOST finale' if you're a LOST fan.
Anyway, I started it on Christmas night (it was a present) and I'm already on pg. 250. I always have to make myself put his books down. I could easily ignore the rest of my life and sit and read for a couple of days til it's done, but I want to savor it so I'm only reading it at night.
For anyone else that's considering reading
11/22/63 I say give it a whirl. It's not what I would classify as his horror genre books. It is gory in parts, but not to bad for him. It involves time travel (or a time portal), history from 58 - now which I find priceless, and a huge story entirely apart from JFK's assassination.

I am glad to hear that everyone is liking this latest SKing book. I downloaded it on my Nook and plan to read it in the near future.
I just finished Madame Tussaud: A Novel of the French Revolution. It was slow to start, but then got much better. I really like Michelle Moran's books, you can tell she puts a lot of research into them. I don't usually put a lot of stock in the 'history' found in most historical fiction, but I always enjoy reading her spin on historical events. Now I'm reading Moloka'i and it has been quite good so far. I enjoyed Alan Brennert's Honolulu and have been anticipating this second book. It has not disappointed.
Emilly R., Agree--it's a fine book. I just added a review about GIRL WITH A PEARL EARRING to its Amazon book page, which has dozens and dozens of other positive reviews. I'd written it a while back for a newspaper and while retrieving stuff from a former laptop thought I might as well post some of the reviews I wrote for books I really, really liked. You might also like Girl in Hyacinth Blue, which is about painting and the Dutch Golden Age, and lovely. That whole period of history is so rich and Vermeer's career so "murky" (why only 30-some paintings--what was holding him back--perfectionism, family life, poverty, etc.).

Hi Rebecca, thank you so much i am going to buy GIRL IN HYACINTH BLUE.I love books that has some historical meaning and beauty
Emilly R wrote: "I just finished reading "GIRL WITH A PEARL EARRING"BY TRACY CHAVALIER , I truly enjoyed the story"I enjoyed this book as well
I just finished reading The Sense of an Ending by Julian Barnes. Fantastic--a real psychological mystery and page-turner. Short, too, which makes it good for the holiday season (my own attention span is severely battered right now).
Suzanne wrote: "I just finished Madame Tussaud: A Novel of the French Revolution. It was slow to start, but then got much better. Thought Molokai was better, but that might just have been because I read it first.
I;m reading Little Women right now. I'm just going to read the first part for now, and then move on to the books from the library, the first one being La's Orchestra Saves the World by Alexander McCall Smith. Then I will start the second part in Louisa May Alcott's book, which is Good Wives.
I'm reading Little Women too, well off and on. I'm also finishing up a bunch of light Christmas books before moving on to Jane Austen's Emma.
Finished Whoopi Goldberg's Is It Just Me or is it Nuts Out There?. She's right where did our manners and respect for each other and each other's space go?
Tess wrote: "Caleb's Crossing by Geraldine Brooks"What do you think of "Caleb's Crossing"? I was a little disappointed, as I loved her other books, although her sense of place is fantastic.
Emilly R wrote: "i am reading the namesake by JHUMPAL LAHIRI"I loved that story, but surprisingly I liked the movie better. Usually for me it is the other way around. Loved her book of short stories. Enjoy.

Just started - I will let you know. I loved "March". We will see...
Loved The Second Most Dangerous Job In America! Reminded me too much of my own short stint behind the register at a mini mart!!
Starting to read Girl With Oars and Man Dying... by JA Tyler. For some reason goodreads won't let me link to it, but it is listed in here. It reads kinda crazy, too soon to tell if I'm completely digging it yet.

Finished Death Comes to Pemberley and was very disappointed. Wasn't like any other P.D. James I've ever read. In fact if it hadn't said it was on the cover no one would have been able to convince she was the author.
I just finished 11/22/63 by Stephen King and it was fantastic! I am now reading SACRED HEARTS by Sarah Dunant. I love all of her books and so far this one does not dissapoint.
I finished Imperiumby robert Harris this weekend. I always love his books but this one was verry different. It doesn't mix a historical fact with present time like the other books I read. This one is about Cicero and I was completely hooked!Last night I couldn't sleep so I started the brick Atlas Shrugged. Almost fifty pages into it and finding it very good.
Jeane wrote: "I finished Imperiumby robert Harris this weekend. I always love his books but this one was verry different. It definately has a slant to it, but totally interesting. Let me know how you like it.
I finished Moloka'i last night. I found it slightly too long. If it were about 50-70 pages shorter, it would have been just perfect. But it's an extremely good read, nonetheless. Next up is Kristin Hannah's latest, Night Road.
3/4 of the way through the lovely Friendship Bread and have started interesting 1st effort of Lori G. Armstrong, Blood Ties.
Sheila wrote: "I'am reading White Oleander by Janet Fitch"Hope you enjoy this one Sheila, I thought it was a very good book when I read it a while back. I love the way Fitch writes.
