What are you reading?
I just read Illusions and I am staring on Farewell to Manzanar: A True Story of Japanese American Experience During and After the World War II Internment
I seem to be reading books five and six at a time lately. The current crop:Murder Most Royal
The Quilter's Homecoming
Act of Treason
The Shop on Blossom Street
Divine Inspiration
I'm about half way into
and I really like it so far. I've also gotten started on
and I'm not too sure about this one yet.

Yulande: I read The Voyage of the Dawn Treader earlier this month, two more to go in my (re)read of the series. I hope you enjoy(ed) it!Have also read books five and six of the Harry Potter series this month, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. One more to go before the last movie comes out!
Picked up a shorter one before hitting the last HP, Agatha Raisin and the Vicious Vet by M.C. Beaton.
I'm currently reading:To the Lighthouse
The Good Thief's Guide to Paris (which is less entertaining than I expected and I've already skipped a couple of pages. Alas.
And 'Ten Little Niggers' by Agatha Christie. The search option can't provide me with a link to this book. I hope I'll manage to uncover the culprit this time!

The reason you can't find 'Ten Little Niggers' is that it is also titled 'And Then There Were None'. That book went through a couple of title changes: TLN to Ten Little Indians and then, at least in the US it became And Then There Were None. There may have been other iterations in other countries and other times. The changes were due to sensitivities to certain words in the titles. You must have a very old copy of the book! Enjoy!

I loved the Friday Night Knitting Club! I'll probably read the sequel sometime.

Jennifer, Are you enjoying "Act of Treason?" I do like the books Vince Flynn writes.

Thank you for the information, dear! There's a copy on Goodreads, though. I have it on my 'currently reading' list in my profile but somehow I couldn't find the link to it while posting here.
Actually, I have a Polish version in which the original English title is also presented. :)
I finished
and really enjoyed it. I'm currently about half way thru The Three Musketeers and am wondering if this book ever ends.
I dropped The Good Thief's Guide to Paris after reading slightly more than half of the book (it wasa utterly boring and the characters were uninteresting and flat). Picked up W dżungli życia (a Polish book) and something the Goodreads had on its sidebar as a recommendation: Entropic Quest. The latter starts off in a very promising way and the writing style is very lovely.
Mudbound. Set in the 40's after WWII, this book is beautiful. It is about a married couple, living in Memphis, TN leading a quiet peaceful life. When circumstances throw them into the Delta land of Mississippi on a farm, the turmoil starts. It is about the adjustments that all the characters have to make and the trials of racism that existed during that period of time.
I'm currently reading Rachel's Holiday by Marian Keyes and Unfinished Business: One Man's Extraordinary Year of Trying to Do the Right Things by Lee Kravitz. Enjoying both so far! :)
I am reading The Lost Summer of Louisa May Alcottby Kelly McNess. I will probably bring out my old copy of Little Women to reread after I finish.

I read this book some time ago and thought it was very well written and a powerful story.

I just got it from the library, good to hear you liked it. It's my next in line to read.

The Little Women Letters out. I re-read the Lost Summer & now have started reading The Little Women Letter. Last summer I did find that I re-read Little Women after finishing The Lost Summer....
The Perfect DeceitAn enthralling book on how countries vie against each other to be top dog on the world stage. Spies, double agents, love triangles -- it’s all in a days work! In today’s interconnected world, this book gives one an interesting perspective on how much competition goes on behind the scenes with ambitions and stakes running high. Hearts are broken and for some power is gained. High drama and lots of mind games involved. Perfect summer reading!

This is the fifth or sixth Vince Flynn I've read and I really like them. I bought my husband the first two for his kindle and he seems to be liking them also. Gives him something to read between Star Wars books and military history.
Love Kills is really good and so is The Second Messiah so far. I keep switching between the two, feeling guilty over the one I'm not reading!
I just finished Don Quixote which was actually rather enjoyable although the last 150 pages or so really dragged for me. Not sure what I'm going to read next but I definitely feel a non-fiction kick coming on.
I've started Called Home: Two Hearts Answer, and I'm still listening to Moloka'i. Audio books take me forever to complete, but I love having them for the car.
I am currently reading a few books:
Timothy Keller
P.C. CastThe Woman in White
Wilkie CollinsThe Reason for God: Belief in an Age of SkepticismBurnedand I will be starting today:
The Defiant HeroSuzanne Brockmann
I'm reading The Sentry, The Postmistress, Freedom Summer: The Savage Season That Made Mississippi Burn and Made America a Democracy, and Matterhorn: A Novel of the Vietnam War. Just finished Clara and Mr. Tiffany.
I FINALLY finished
. I was not really a fan... I guess it was ok. Next up, some YA:
I also just got
from the library, so I'll probably start that soon, too.
Hey everyone, it's been awhile since I've posted here... nice to see what everyone's reading :)
I am currently reading alt.punk by Lavinia Ludlow and I'm loving it. It's sharp and sarcastic and the female protag is an absolute trip!
She weighs under 115 pds yet everyone around her calls her fat so she refuses to eat near people, though she will binge on soda, candy, and other unhealthy things at home. She is a severe germaphobe who is disgusted by sex and stray pubic hair....
I wish I never had to put this book down!

Lori, that book sounds great. Another addition to my TBR list, but it looks like my public library doesn't have it :(
I hear a lot of mixed reviews of audio books, but I'm a big fan of them. And here's just one reason why-- I'm packing to move, and I've listened to two complete books so far while doing it: Act of Treason
and The New Year's Quilt
. Somehow, knocking out two books so far is making the fact that the move is two weeks away, and I've packed up about 80% of my belongings--which means I could live without 80% of the crap I own!--easier to swallow.
