French Fries: Vinegar and Ketchup

message 2166: by Charity (new)

Charity (charityross) Well, I shouldn't talk. I'm sick. I put either mustard on fries OR ranch dressing. I do love chili-cheese fries though.

message 2167: by Charity (new)

Charity (charityross) I put mustard and sauerkraut on my brats. Stinky stuff right there.

message 2168: by Donna (new)

message 2170: by Donna (new)

Donna (dfiggz) | 1626 comments Love Sweet potato ANYTHING and love Brats!!

message 2171: by Charity (new)

Charity (charityross) I don't like honey mustard for pretty much the same reason I don't care for ketchup or Miracle Whip...too sweet.

message 2172: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments I love those pretzel sticks. They're better than the whole pretzel. More salt :).

message 2173: by Charity (new)

Charity (charityross) Soft pretzels dipped in cheese....mmmm!

message 2174: by Donna (new)

Donna (dfiggz) | 1626 comments Philly Cheese Steaks are really good at Phil's Gyro on the AC boardwalk

message 2175: by Cynthia (new)

Cynthia (pandoraphoebesmom) | 1826 comments Sweet Potato Fries are really yummy.

Hate sauerkraut...which is weird because I eat my cooked cabbage with vinegar and pepper.

message 2176: by Charity (new)

Charity (charityross) Do they have whiz on them or provolone?

message 2177: by Donna (new)

Donna (dfiggz) | 1626 comments The pretzels here in NYC are gross Too hard and burnt

message 2178: by Donna (new)

Donna (dfiggz) | 1626 comments We shall now call this DB "Food we eat...when we read??"

message 2179: by Charity (new)

Charity (charityross) I just discovered one of the movie theaters in town serves beer. Draft beer! How cool is that??

The movie theaters here have little soft pretzel bites with nacho cheese. So good.

message 2180: by Donna (new)

Donna (dfiggz) | 1626 comments I hate cornbeef and Cabbage

message 2181: by Donna (new)

Donna (dfiggz) | 1626 comments But I do love my beer. The closest theatre from me that serves beer is in Joisey!!

message 2182: by Cynthia (new)

Cynthia (pandoraphoebesmom) | 1826 comments Gyros...one of my favorite things in the world. I look forward to the festival they have in town every fall just so I can go get a gyro...we don't have any good greek places near me.

message 2183: by Donna (new)

Donna (dfiggz) | 1626 comments Yeah? I should try that. But what about the cheese??

message 2184: by Donna (new)

Donna (dfiggz) | 1626 comments The best gyros in the city are in the Village but they are of course Mexican and NOT Greek

message 2185: by Donna (new)

Donna (dfiggz) | 1626 comments I would love to go to one of those Festivals!! U have to tell me when the next one is!!

message 2186: by Donna (new)

Donna (dfiggz) | 1626 comments As long as they serve beer I will b there!

message 2187: by Chloe (new)

Chloe (countessofblooms) | 1128 comments Charity, I'm the same way. I love ketchup on most things, but for fries it has to be mustard or ranch. Though I did grow to enjoy the mayo on fries that the Belgians were all about...

message 2188: by [deleted user] (new)

I never gave mayo on fries much of a chance.

By the way, Haunted seems to at least be coming around. I'm at Chapter 17 and there seems to be somewhat of a point and I like the stories for the most part. And Charity would live this word - "Stalk-umentary".

message 2189: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah Donna! A beer fan! Micro, domestic or foreign?

message 2190: by Charity (new)

Charity (charityross) LOL Jeremy! :-)

message 2191: by Charity (new)

Charity (charityross) And I'm still laughing over the word prosti-tots in Choke. :-)

message 2192: by Liesl (new)

Liesl (lieslm) | 170 comments Well, in spite of the change of subject, I've still managed to find something new to add to my TBR shelf: The Story of Edgar Sawtelle. It sounds really interesting. Thanks, Linda. :)

BTW, Cynthia -- I'm the opposite of you. I really, really, really don't like sweet potato fries (in spite of loving sweet potatos), but I do like sauerkraut.

message 2193: by [deleted user] (new)

It makes me think of one of my secret shame foods from grade school - tater tots.

message 2194: by Charity (new)

Charity (charityross) I'm over the half-way point of Choke. My mother-in-law has taken the kids for the day (again), so I should be able to knock it out while I'm doing laundry this afternoon. If I can pull myself away from GR, that is....

message 2195: by Charity (new)

Charity (charityross) Jeremy - it's what he calls the street kids. lmao

message 2196: by Charity (new)

Charity (charityross) My MIL is picking up my books from the library for me, so I should be able to start in on the group reads tonight. Whoo hoo!

message 2197: by [deleted user] (new)

so much easier to read when the kids are gone....

message 2198: by [deleted user] (new)

My Group Read books are "in-transit" and I'll be gone. I either need to wait until next Friday or purchase one of them.

message 2199: by Charity (new)

Charity (charityross) Definitely. Although, most of the time, my oldest insists that I read MY books aloud to him. I read some of the Twain, some of the Steinbeck, but I draw the line at Palahniuk.

message 2200: by [deleted user] (new)

Funny you should say that. Our 12 year old, who has been a bit resistant to reading other than for school, saw me reading Haunted last night and said that would be the first adult book he read. I was like, ummmm...ummm...yeah....I don't think this is it bud.

How does your oldest like the Steinbeck?
