What are you reading?

Fran, I read that one a couple of years ago and was amazed. Some times truth is stranger than fiction.

I just got this in the mail, though it will be awhile before I get to it... Cant wait tho!

i'm thinking that i will start What I Did for Love by Susan Elizabeth Phillips. i need something short and sweet this week, i'm kicking up my marathon training this week, so time is short!

Now . . . time for me to get back to 'Until I Find You'.
I'm about 10 pages short of finishing 'Dreaming in Stereo'.
Jeff and I are reading The OUtlander by Gil Adamson.

It is really good...it has me laughing out loud!!

I have Secrets of Eden next in the pile on my nightstand. I'm glad to hear that it's worth reading because I bought it and it's a hardback. lol

You will love this book. I was hooked on the first page. There are lulls but not too many.
Let me know how you like it.

I'm thinking of picking up Matilda by Roald Dahl. I loved this movie as a kid and bought the book for a buck about a week ago.

The weird thing about this audio is that it is the same Narrator as The Hunger Games so I keep picturing Katniss, Peeta and Hamitch as the characters because she uses the same voices.
I'm still reading Lolita. I'm having a hard time reading it for any length of time. It's well-written but the theme is so hard to read. I feel so sorry for that girl.
I've also started Persepolis 2: The Story of a Return tonight.

This makes me smile, because Matilda is my all time favorite book! It inspired my bibliophilia. The movie is different from the books in many ways, but still very entertaining. My brother and I watched it over Christmas break--who cares if we're adults (well sort of)?
I finished Shell Shaker tonight, which I really enjoyed.

but not far into it since the other club meets first.
I just finished THE INVISIBLE WALL and THE DREAM by
Harry Bernstein. Loved the first one a lot, but the second one, The Dream, is a little repetitive. I excuse the author for this since he is 99-years-old and working on a 4th book.

What is your opinion of Beat the Reaper? It's on my to-read list and I am trying to decide if I want to buy it or wait!

I found a copy for about $3.00 through a used online bookstore. It's on the way to me! Yay!

Did you know that the Poisonwood Bible characters each represent one of the colonization methods of Africa? It's an incredible book for many reasons, not the least of which is the mute daughter.

I actually really liked it...there are some graphic parts and cussing but it kind of reminded me of some of my favorite action movie...(Boondock Saints)

Did you see the giveaway Chris Bojhalien has on his goodreads site. It is a giveaway of some of his books

It was okay. I was interested enough to keep reading to find out what happened in the end. Not the best I've read, but not bad.

Hmmm....I may shift it into a different pile for now then. Thanks for your opinion.

I am currently reading Secrets of Eden and while I think Skeletons at the Feast (a totally different type of book) was more of a page-turner for me, this one is well done. I am on page 202 and would give it a 3.5 to date.
