Sherry Emma?

The Book Whisperer (aka Boof) LOL, I thought this would be easy, sorry.

The Book Whisperer (aka Boof) No. Hee hee.

message 1754: by Stacie (new)

Stacie I am still reading "Lord of the Flies" and am really enjoying it. I keep staying up too late to read because I am not getting much reading time during the day. (However, I did complete my draft of my thesis, so not reading during the day to complete that is allowable!)

I am also going to be starting "Bodies that Matter" by Judith Butler - the queen of feminist/queer studies.

(Whispering to Jeremy so Lori doesn't hear...when you are 18 and a band is singing a song they wrote for you, regardless of the name, it is pretty uplifting!)

message 1755: by Sherry (new)

Sherry Elizabeth?

message 1756: by Lorena (new)

Lorena (lorenalilian) I thought it was Emma too ...

message 1757: by Charity (new)

Charity (charityross) Jane Eyre?

message 1758: by Sherry (new)

The Book Whisperer (aka Boof) What, actually Jane Eyre? the whole thing? How cool would THAT be????

The Book Whisperer (aka Boof) Definitely pride.

message 1763: by [deleted user] (new)

I am also reading the Chronicles of Narnia to my daughter.

(Whispering - ok, I get it now. Sounds fun)

message 1764: by Stacie (new)

Stacie Is the Brit author male or female?

The Book Whisperer (aka Boof) No. Next clue - you will get it after this.

Hitchcock made the film.

message 1766: by Sherry (new)

Sherry Maybe Persuasion?

message 1767: by Charity (new)

Charity (charityross) Rebecca?

(duMaurier)

message 1768: by Stacie (new)

Stacie psycho?

sorry...couldn't resist.

The Book Whisperer (aka Boof) LOL Stacie! You are the winner!

Actually, Charity wins the gold medal.

message 1770: by Sherry (new)

Sherry Damn Stacie, you beat me to it!

message 1771: by Charity (new)

Charity (charityross) Whoo hoo! Got it without the Hitchcock reference...I think. Rebecca, right?

The Book Whisperer (aka Boof) Yes. That's me.

message 1773: by Charity (new)

Charity (charityross) That was fun. Who else can we do?

message 1774: by Sherry (new)

Sherry Well that was fun, though you'll always be Boof to me.

message 1775: by Charity (new)

Charity (charityross) I was still hoping for Lolita.

message 1776: by Lorena (new)

message 1777: by Sherry (new)

Sherry Wouldn't have that been too funny?

The Book Whisperer (aka Boof) LOL, Charity.

Should we make this a game.... like we did with the birthdays? Only... it would only work with someone who hasnt announced thier names yet...

It was fun tho!!!! Charity, Queen again.... Damn...

The Book Whisperer (aka Boof) Dare we ask why, Lorena?

message 1783: by [deleted user] (last edited Jul 31, 2008 02:17PM) (new)

Was it pronounced LoLeeeta ?

The Book Whisperer (aka Boof) LOL Jeremy.

message 1785: by Lorena (new)

Lorena (lorenalilian) Nothing weird, I am Lorena-Liliann so just to make it short ... we called my cousin Elizabeth, Chabelita, and Guillermo Memito ... he he he I haven't thought of that for so long.

message 1786: by Charity (new)

Charity (charityross) Funnily enough, when you first joined the group, it took me a while to realize people were referring to you when they wrote Boof. I thought it was a little onomatopoeia thrown in to add color to their posts...like 'BOOF! I ran into the wall'. I'm a bit slow.

message 1787: by Sherry (new)

Sherry **LOL**

message 1788: by [deleted user] (last edited Jul 31, 2008 02:21PM) (new)

Hm, I thought I was the only person who said "funnily enough". AND I have to stop reading this because laughter is still side splitting for me.

message 1789: by Lorena (new)

Lorena (lorenalilian) **LOL**

The Book Whisperer (aka Boof) LOL!!!!!!!! That's so cool, Charity. BOOF! I like it.

message 1791: by Charity (new)

Charity (charityross) Funnily enough, you're not.

message 1792: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm about 80 pgs into Blood Meridian. I hope others have read it because I'm going to have to talk about it when I'm done...haha.

message 1793: by Charity (new)

Charity (charityross) ...and then I killed the thread.

*it is eerily quiet all of a sudden*

message 1794: by Sherry (new)

Sherry Jesse, what do you think so far?

message 1795: by [deleted user] (new)

I like it so far. I'm becoming a big McCarthy fan really fast. There are passages that remind of some twisted conglamoration of The Iliad and William Faulkner. The man can just flat out write.

Charity, the Thread Killa.... Hee hee....

If enough people have read the book Jesse, you can post a topic in the Book Discussions folder so you can talk about it without interupption....Logan started one with Blindness and there is one for The Road, neither were offical Group reads, but there was enough interest in both to generate alot of talk.....

message 1797: by Sherry (new)

Sherry Can't wait to tuck into the Border Trilogy.I'm becoming a big fan of his writing as well.

message 1798: by Charity (new)

Charity (charityross) Ah. The book that caused me great pains, Sherry. :-)

I was very determined.

message 1799: by [deleted user] (new)

But I'm only about 1/4th of the way through it. It's incredibly violent and I'll just have to see if, at some point, I just start feeling like it's just too over the top.

message 1800: by [deleted user] (new)

Thank ya, Lori. I may just do that.
