I loved The Mists of Avalon - it's been a long time since I read it but you've just reminded me of it and I might have to dig it out again.
I have a few going right now. I just started The Red Tent, I am also reading The Eyre Affair and The Forest of Hands and Teeth.

Especially the short story ones, like Fables and Reflections, that I just finished, or The Sandman Vol. 03 Dream Country...."Thanks, Jayme! That's good information. I'll see about getting Vol. 2 from the Library.
I just got done with cassie edwars book now i am reading carrie by stephen king
Marti wrote: "I am about 1/2 way into Shutter Island By Dennis Lahane. Totally sucking me in...I figured out the twist early on but it still didn't ruin it for me because I had to find out the details! I'm anxious for the movie now.

I stopped reading The Secret History of the Pink Carnation because I was 200 pages in and it just wasn't moving along. I'm now reading Along for the Ride by Sarah Dessen.
I am reading The Once and Future King .. always wanted to read it and finally got it for christmas.. its amusing.. ^_^
I just finished A Change in Altitude. It was good, but has left me with this nagging question about guilt... What is it and what is your responsibility as human?I am not sure what is next - I could finish Holes, The Heretic Queen, Firefly Lane or what ????
Margaret, I am reading that as well... a little over the halfway mark, but it pales in comparision to some of his other books, for me...
I just finished The Stainless Steel Rat Sings the Blues, which was my first one from that series. Honestly not sure if I liked Jim or not ... I'll have to read a couple of others to decide.
Just finished Crazy Beautiful...a YA book whose main characters, coming from totally different backgrounds, are both strong enough to trust their gut instincts and do what is right. Also finished The Enthusiast A Novel, a book that is SO worth taking the time to read...not just for its hysterical "intellectual humor," but also for watching the main character learn from his life experiences. Now I'm reading Four Freedoms A Novel and enjoying it so far.
Thanks, I think I'll read that!! Have you read any of McKinley's other books? So far I want to read The Blue Sword, Sunshine, and Deerskin.
I am about to start To Die For by Joyce Maynard. My son gave me the first season of True Blood for Christmas. Since Christmas, I've watched the whole season and read the 9 books that are currently out. An addiction, I fear.

Yes ... I think I'm addicted to the True Blood series too ... it saddens me! ha ha
Just finished Shutter Island!! WOW!! I loved it! Now I am starting Her Fearful Symmetry! Really excited to read this one too!
Just finished From Dead To Worse (Sookie Stackhouse #8) by Charlaine Harris. Loved the ending on this one. I don't think it had quite the same pull and "big" moments as some of the others but still very enjoyable to read.
Now onto Poppy and Dingan by Ben Rice which will be a quick light read. It's based in country/rural Australia and is about a young girl who's Dad loses her imaginary friends. Even though I'm Australian its a little anoying with some of the jargon though if I wasn't Australian I don't know that I'd know what they were talking about.

I finished Everything is Illuminated on New Year's Eve and absolutely loved it. It was definately one of the best I've read all year.Starting the New Year with Fallen by David Maine, and also started Ulysses by James Joyce.

I absolutely loved that book. When I was done, I couldn't believe I had let it languish so long on my shelf before reading it. I just started #2, The Girl Who Played with Fire, and it is shaping up to be even more amazing.

If you haven't read Shutter Island or The Given Day, they are both great.

Hooray for Odd Thomas! How was Dexter by Design? I have it, and plan to it read soon.... I am hoping it is an improvement over book3... that one let me down a little.

Yay! I really liked Fallen, it was my first Maine novel, and I quickly ran out to by the rest of his books. I would love to hear what you think!
I wanted to start Ulysses with you and the others, but I just have not had the time. I hope I can get to it soon.
