Lindz (miss_bovary00) I loved Jane Eyre! It was vibrant so passionate. I loved the character of Jane, and even more the character of Mr Rochester, grrrrrrr. I was such a passionate vibrant love story.

Miriam M | 7 comments I'm currently reading The Time Traveler's Wife Done with half of it. I didn't like the movie.. terrible, but the book is pretty good so far. For those who read it. I keep wondering why is the title; The Time Traveler's WIFE, when clearly the book is mostly about henry and how their life is shaped by henry's constant dissapearing? Any idea?

Emma | 100 comments Although I have been disappointed by recent Picoult works, the Pact was the first of hers I read, and I absolutely loved it! I stayed up all night reading it and could never put it down. Especially when it gets to the last half and you are really not sure what is going to happen with the boy...enjoy!

I think the book is pretty good. Even if people say its not historically accurate, at least it is intresting. It is accurate for the most part. I'm planning on watching the movie soon, so I'll see how they compare.

Kristin (kg05) | 310 comments I dont have Sugar Queen yet on my shelf, ive just been buying books as I saw them at Goodwill or online cheap, so i need to get it soon.. Im trying to dwindle down my TBR pile before i buy anymore books. I do have two coupons one for B&N and one for Borders, maybe ill use one on Sugar Queen.. I have a gift card too!

The Pact will be the first Picoult book I've read, Im enjoying it so far, Im not a huge fan of the way it jumps back and forth but it keeps you on your toes I guess.. I do like the story though i defiantly cant wait to get towards the end to find out what happened. Ive only been reading at night before bed and during my lunch breaks so im not getting too far real quick, im only on page 100 i dont have to work in the morning tomorrow so i think im gonna stay up later tonight and read some more. id like to get at least another 50 pages in before i go to bed.

The Pact was my first Picoult book too. I really enjoyed it, but I'm kind of sorry I did. It led me to read several others of hers and in the end, I feel like they were formula books and really manipulative emotionally.

Would say that Wuthering Heights and Jane Eyre are contrasting novels.

WH is about a headstrong girl who falls in love with a cruel controlling man but marries the socially acceptable man. Most of the characters are quite despicable and unlikeable.(Though for me that doesn't detract from enjoyment of the book)

JE is about an outcast who survives through her strong will. S he sticks to her principles even when it breaks her heart to do so. And in the process gives us one of the strongest, most feminist characters in classical literature.

For me WH is about passion/obsession while JE is about love.

I think her stuff gets a little monotonous at times. I'd love to see more variety in format and plot from her. It seems as though there's been some major court case in every book of hers I've read (granted only 4).

I feel exactly the same way. I read The Pact first which was great. I read My Sister's Keeper next, which I also loved. As I read more of her books, I became less impressed. They all started to feel the same.

I loved this book. I read for sheer enjoyment so I am not terribly bothered if a book is not historically accurate. So far this is my favorite of Philippa Gregory's but I did enjoy all the others (expect for maybe one).

I have mixed feeling about books with characters I dislike; some I like despite it and others I just can't begin to enjoy. I just reached page 92 in Wuthering Heights and am beginning to see where I may start disliking the characters. So far I am still sympathetic towards Heathcliff, and Cathy I am on the fence over. I think if the point of view were different, if it was told from Cathy's point of view or even Heathcliff's, it would be easier to sympathise with them than the way it is told through a third party.

So far so good. It reminds me of stories my husband has of his childhood. They had live in "help" when he was growing up. We live in the south, and so much of this book rings true to that time.
