I am reading On the Road by Jack Kerouac. I am absolutely mesmerized by it. Something about the classics get me every time.

Can you give me a little teaser as to what the story is about? Don't spoil anything for me, just try to let me know what the book is generally about. I would really appreciate it. :)

I guess in a nut shell its a father and son road movie, set in a devastated world. There is more to it than this, but I don't want to spoil it for you.
I am still in my historical romance reading jag! Now onto A Wicked Lord at the Wedding by Jillian Hunter
Has anyone read or plan on reading The Piano Teacherby Janice Y.K. Lee I was picking up my copy of the December group read book The Stupidest Angel today and saw that book and almost bought it. Can i get any feed back on if its a good read or not. Thank you for your input.

Delan, I liked the Piano Teacher although I thought it fizzled a bit at the end. Would still recommend it though.

Jason is the Piano teacher the same story as the Hanek film ?

I am not sure about that..
Finally have decided to bite the bullet and read Heart of Darkness. I just want to mark it off my list already.
Reading Bill Bryson's Notes from a Small Island. I needed something a little lighter after all of the drama in Breaking Dawn (Meyer). ;-)
Recently finished reading Nicholas and Alexandra and The Tricking of Freya. Both were 4 star books for different reasons. I have to say, Christina Sunley's writing style and subject matter were refreshingly unique. Now I'm reading A Corpse in the Koryo.
Was finally able to get Heart of Darkness off my list. Luckily it was a quick read. Now reading The Magnificent Ambersons.
Reading The Memory Keeper's Daughter by Kim Edwards. It's just ok for me. I thought it would be alot better. I should finish it up today though.
I just finished The Girl Who Played With Fire. Amazing!I have started a Goodreads giveaway, The Things That Keep Us Here by Carla Buckley and am enjoying it.
Finished:Deeper - okay horror, not great.
Push A Novel - disturbing but good.
2012 The War for Souls - I forgot I had read this when it first came out. Very good.
Started:
Breathless A Novel.
I just started The Seven Daughters of Eve The Science That Reveals Our Genetic Ancestry. The second chapter was a bit tedious but it's gotten more interesting since then.
Hi Petra a science book I read a while ago that was good was Mismatch The Lifestyles Diseases Timebomb by Peter Gluckman and Mark Hanson. It was very interesting and the style of writing was just right, intelligent and yet geared to a reader who didn't have a scientific background.

Jason, thanks! I just had a look at the synopsis and added this book to my TBR list.
I started At Swim, Two Boys A Novel by Jamie O'Neill and have fallen completely in love with the writing and the dialogue. Wonderful book so far.
Rereading Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. I read it years ago when it first came out, but since I now have a child going to school there and I know the city the book is even more enjoyable. Just a great read, and to think it all happened.I'm also listening to The Name of the Wind and loving it.
And yes, I am still reading, as an ebook, Twenties Girl. I don't think ebook is my best reading format. When I get on the computer it is usually to see what you guys are doing or check with my friends on Facebook. Oh well, I'm sure to finish it someday.
Finally, starting The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger tomorrow. (Now off to bed since it's 2 AM!)
I had to take a break from Shogun, so I just finished Poison Study. I loved it! Now I'm not sure whether to get started again on Shogun or maybe squeeze one more "breather" book in.
Hello everyone, my name is Olympia I'm a bookaholic. I just started The God of Small Things by Arundhati Roy. I'm having such a difficult time not only keeping up with all the characters, but getting into story itself is difficult. If anyone has read it please send me some feed back. I greatly appreciate it. Thank you and happy reading.
i'm reading One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, for the first time. i'm already loving it, real impressive.
woot woot, my cold is just about gone and I'm not sick anymore. So now I can read again! I finished Her Fearful Symmetry a few hours ago and I am now reading Looking for Alaska.
I am reluctant to read Fearful Symmetry, I did not care for the Time Travelers Wife. I know I will not buy the hardback. So it will be a while if ever.
Finished Under The Dome by Stephen King, fun book. Now I can devote all my attention to Books of Blood by Clive Barker.
I just started The Girl Who Played with Fire. I'm a little late for the monthly group read but I was waiting in line at the library. Better late than never :)
Finished The Secret History by Donna Tartt, which I loved. I highly recommend it. Over the weekend, I started Death by Zamboni by David David Katzman.
I just started reading Under the Dome this weekend and so far its good. I may try and pick up The Stupidest Angel too for the group read. I haven't read any of Christopher Moore's books ---- plus Under the Dome may be a bit heavy to lug on the bus every day to work!
Susanna wrote: "Finally, starting The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger tomorrow. (Now off to bed since it's 2 AM!)"Me too! Feels like I am the last person on the planet to read this. haha! I just finished the first couple of chapters and so far, so good. :) I hope you enjoy it as well!
Carrie wrote: "Jennifer, how was HER FEARFUL SYMMETRY? I'm dying to read it.I was thinking since I didn't like "The Time Traveller's Wife" and most people haven't liked "Her Fearful Symmetry" that there is a chance that I might like it! LOL
I've just started reading "The Alienist" by Caleb Carr. Haven't gotten far enough into it to say whether or not I like it. I had to read this book because its sequel, "The Angel of Darkness", has been sitting on my bookshelf for years. I absolutely cannot read books out of order (i.e., #2 before #1) in a series. Drives me nuts!

I loved the Dexter books, and I really love the show too. I wish there were more of the books available, as they were a really quick read.

For the "Her Fearful Symmetry" wonderers...
I think it is far superior to Time Travelers Wife, if only becuase of the many layers to each character....
The developement is incredibly different. I recommend everyone give it a shot (whether in HC or PB)
