Yup I'm loving it! I watched the movie before reading the book and I can tell you that it's quite different! But you'll love it, I assure you!

I finished Fearless Fourteen. I thought it was a very easy read which was funny in a lot of parts. Now i have decided to jump on the book of the month and see how that goes. Now im reading Olive Kitteridge. Im about 15 pages in right now, and i hope to get it done so i can get in on nexts months book.
Finished with Dead until Dark...pretty eh------------------
I agree, but I kept reading the series because so many people raved about them.. they do get better. The 4rth one was my favorite and now I am into the 6th and it is really good as well. The first cvouple are just eh.

I'm still reading Dragonfly in Amber and I'm just starting Twenties Girl A Novel.
-------------------------
Twenties Girl: I really enjoyed this and read it in one day. Quick, easy, fun read.
I'm reading
finally. its taking me awhile since ive only been reading on my lunch breaks instead of all the time like i used to.. I'm liking it so far.. it's def. different!
I've just finished The Last September and will now be primarily working on Lady Audley's Secret and a re-read of Pride and Prejudice.
Julie wrote: "I'm about to start,Pride and Prejudice for the first time. I gotta say I'm excited =) "Julie, hope you will enjoy it. I don't like romantic stories at all but for some unknown reason I adore this book!!!!
Liz wrote: "I've just finished The Last September and will now be primarily working on Lady Audley's Secret and a re-read of Pride and Prejudice."Yayayay Pride and prejudice!!!! Another one. Liz, the holidays must be great for you with the tme to read!!!
Just finished Something Missing A Novel. Really great story--I gave it 4 stars. Now on to The Thirteenth Tale. It's been on my TBR pile for ages and I've heard great reviews, but for some reason I'm not excited to pick it up...we'll see.
I'm reading two (almost) connected books: Long Walk to Freedom: The Autobiography of Nelson Mandela, and The Smell of Apples: A Novel (A memoir, but really a novel, of an Afrikaner boy growing up during the 70s and 80s). Both are fascinating, and I realize just how much I don't know about Africa. I've got Google going full blast while I'm reading!
I'm reading Shadow Season by Tom Piccirilli. The narrator is blind, so I'm interested in how he'll communicate the story.
Finished reading Benny & Shrimp. Endearing in a quirky way. Gave it 3 stars. After reading The Kitchen Boy A Novel of the Last Tsar, I was looking for something more in depth about the Romanovs. A GoodReads friend recommended Nicholas and Alexandra, which I am currently reading.
I just finished two Louis Bayard books, The Black Tower and The Pale Blue Eye A Novel, and loved them both. I'm now reading Uglies by Scott Westerfield, one I've been meaning to read for some time.
Finished The Year of the Flood, it was awesome! Now I'm starting The Hound of the Baskervilles. It's my first Sherlock Holmes book...but not really, I already know I'll love it.

They are, although I still have homework. I'm re-reading P&P for a paper.
Finished a reread of The Murder of Roger Ackroyd. Rereading knowing the end is I found as exciting as reading it for the first time. So.. now either going back to Kafka on the Shore or Sharpe's Gold.
Started and finished Cross Country today. Now I have to figure out something else to read..... JP's books go way to fast for me!
I'm reading Why We Hate Us American Discontent in the New Millennium by Dick Meyer, Shogun by James Clavell, and School of Fear 1 by Gitty Daneshvari

I just finishedA Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray and thought it was pretty fantastic. My boyfriend had some friends over this weekend and one brought his girlfriend who is also a huge reader, so I stole the graphic novel, Rapunzel's Revenge, that she finished and blazed through it last night. It was fabulous. I adored Rapunzel throughout the whole book.
I just started Salem's Lot last night. It will probably take me a little longer than the others have, just because it's a bit longer and a bit more dense and also I have about fifty projects coming up that I need to work on. It's good so far, though and I'm excited to get into it.
I am starting to read A Courtesan's Scandal. Hopefully lovely historical romance that will take me away!!!!! After that you know I might need another historical romance to take me away.

Finally, The Girl Who Played with Fire, arrived from the library. I've just started it, but already am enjoying it. I'm getting into it quicker than I did The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.
Arun wrote: "I am with Follett's "Pillars of the Earth"....any opinions folks ??"I read the book twice. Once when it first came out and again this year. It was a very good book.
Kathy wrote: "The Hound of the Baskervilles is one of my favorite books. I hope you enjoy it. "I blasted through half of it today, and I LOVE IT!
After a little bit of a slow start, I've been immersed in Odd Thomas all day and am about 2 thirds of the way through. Something a little different to my usual reads but I'm enjoying it and will pick up the sequals.
Oh Kate, I adore the Odd Thomas series.... The first is the best in my opinion, however, each book is def worth a read!!!
Thanks Carol...going through most posts about this i come to know that most folks either love the book or hate the book, there is no middle ground for it...carol (akittykat) wrote: "Arun wrote: "I am with Follett's "Pillars of the Earth"....any opinions folks ??"

Arun wrote: "I am with Follett's "Pillars of the Earth"....any opinions folks ??"I really, really liked it. The only thing I would warn you about is some pretty intense violence. It was almost enough to make me put the book down forever. But I'm glad I stuck with it!
Arun wrote: "I am with Follett's "Pillars of the Earth"....any opinions folks ??"I loved this book - read it years ago......

I agree with Carol..those were violent times...right before this book I was reading The Strain and the kind of gore in that book matched Hollywood standards...I am a few more pages into it...

The fact that the book is good is reflected in the way almost all of u guys recollect it with fondness from years ago...Claire wrote: "Arun wrote: "I am with Follett's "Pillars of the Earth"....any opinions folks ??"

Pillars was a favorite for me when I read it a few years ago. It's one that sticks with you. That is why I re-read it. I like history and there was a lot of history about the masons and the guilds in medieval Europe
