I finished The Hot Zone A Terrifying True Story,which I listened to on audio.
The audio version was full of breathy, over-dramatization and lengthy & dramatic pauses. It made the story seem a bit overblown. I'm sure this was an awful scare for everyone involved but the audio version didn't quite get that across to the listener.
I've now started Fast Food Nation and am continuing with Fifth Business, which I'm really enjoying.

I just finished Cat's Cradle (Kurt Vonnegut), Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? (Philip K. Dick), and Eaters of the Dead (Michael Crichton) during my downtime during a vacation to Egypt (looong flights).

I'm about to start Death with Interruptions by Jose Saramago. I really enjoyed Blindness, so I'm pretty excited about starting this one. It looks like an interesting premise.

i finished I Was Told There'd Be Cake from Sloane Crosley yesterday. i liked it, but i did feel that the essays at the beginning were better than the ones towards the end.

i started Rebel Angels today, and am going to try to pick up The Lace Reader from the library tonight. i forgot that my bi-monthly book club was supposed to read that for this friday, so hopefully i can pick it up and get through it quickly.

Keep watching... we have noted that about a week or so later some of the children have ended up with ear infections/sore throats/ and some other lung stuff.

I'm a college student, so I live in a flu breeding ground! Right now something is going around where people are getting all of the symptoms of the flu but the flu tests are coming back negative. I hope everyone's who been sick starts feeling better~

I am going to start Lord of the Flies by William Golding. Shocking, I know. I never read it.

I started "Man in the High Castle" a few days ago, and am just about at the halfway mark.

It's just "eh" for me. Im not a big history person, and alot of this novel is just confusing the hell out of me. I keep forgetting who owns which parts of the US, and I have to wonder why the american born people speak broken, incomplete english.. even when they are thinking internally...

Gack! Not really digging this Dick novel... but determined to finish it!

I started and finished this week end The Lost Symbol, highly recommend it. Dan Brown's best, to date. The story is fast evolving, you stay focused on the end goal, led down blind paths, etc...the ending is excellent.

I read the Lace Reader several months ago and loved it. The ending is a "wow."

-cold comfort farm by stella gibbons - this one is kind of on hold, because i am just not into it right now.
-a clash of kings by george r. r. martin - also kind of on hold, but not because i wasn't enjoying it- i just wanted to read a few smaller books, to make some progress in my reading challenge. :)
-the elegance of the hedgehog by muriel barberry - my "main book" at the moment. i like it so far.
-the complete bone by jeff smith - this is a HUGE book, but an easy-to-read comic. i like to read it before bed.
-macbeth by william shakespeare - a reread for a challenge in which i am supposed to reread a book i read in school. i'm liking it much better this time around (probably because for once i am actually paying attention.)

Bunny, it will reach a point where you get into it, but that is one really bizarre family (funny-bizarre). If you can find it, watch the movie starring Kate Beckinsale as Flora. The tagline for the movie reads: "She discovered a new branch of her family tree... the one with all the nuts."

my mum was in Ireland visiting her parents and she grabbed me the new Marian Keye's book The Brightest Star in the Sky. I dont think it is out here yet so I was really excited when she came home with it!

I'm almost finished with "A Long, Long Time Ago and Essentially True" by Brigid Pasulka. I'm enjoying the way it alternates storylines by chapter. I'm looking for something to read that it is as engrossing and well-written as "The Gargoyle". I haven't read anything as captivating for so long! Any suggestions?

I just finished reading 'Tempted' by P.C. Cast and Kristen Cast.
It was REALLY GOOD!!! I would read it over and over agian! I can't until the 7th book comes out in that serious!!! :)
I think the next book I would like to read is the 3rd book in the blue bloods serious. . .I heard that was gud.

I am reading, "The Time of my Life", by Patrick Swayze and Lisa Niemi. So far, it's excellent and I only expect it to get better. I'm a major Patrick Swayze fan - he died too young and too hard. I've read parts of other books, but this is the only one I've stuck with for awhile. Will be moving on to the next book as soon as I finish this one. I am also reading my own book that is being published, because you have to keep going over it for errors in the manuscrpit, etc. BTW, it's a book of free-verse poetry, 103 poems, 203 pages. It will be available within the month, and can be bought online. Anyway, I think my next book will be "The Addict". Best wishes to you all.
