I am reading ANGELS @ DEMONS BY DAN BROWN I dint want to read this book but i packed all the others but as i started to read i am getting into it

I finished my re-reading of New Moon by Stephenie Meyer and finished reading Timeline by Michael Crichton. New Moon and the whole Twilight saga is an absolute guilty pleasure for me, so I thoroughly enjoyed the characters and plot all over again. Unforunately, I did not enjoy Timeline, but will pick up another Crichton book.

I am now reading The Reader by Bernhard Schlink. I started it last night and am halfway through it. It's a pretty fast read and I love literature on WWII and the Holocaust.

I believe I will finish it today and pick up another one of the books on my "Top Ten Books That I Need to Read Now" list. It's going to consist of five classics and five contemporary pieces. I have to narrow down my spectrum of my elaborate and quite extensive TBR bookcase.

I have to read those ten books before I pick up or even look at another book. I have to finish all ten before I can even think of adding more to the piles.

I believe it's going to help me appreciate the books that I have in front of me more, and make it more of a challenge. I think I was becoming too overwhelmed with all the books I had to read. Now that I have narrowed it down, I feel a bit more at ease and it does not seem as daunting of a task anymore.

Emilly, I haven't read Dan Brown's new book but I did like Angels and Demons better than all his other books.

I'm glad that you like "The Reader". I wanted to read it so bad, I started 2 times, got alsmost half way through the book and couldn't continue. It just didn't grab my attention...I was pressuring my self to read it..

Sorry if I was unclear earlier with my posting!

I just NOW finished The Reader and have to say that I did not enjoy it. Yes, it was a quick read, was about the Holocaust (barely), but it did not fulfill my expectations. A lot of people told me it was a really good book...I just did not see it!

I'm glad that I did not spend a whole lot of time on it though..

Next to read is...I don't know! I have 9 remaining in my pile now. We'll see how much reading I'll get done this weekend.

The only book I read by this author was Aztec, and that was years ago. I recall it as being muscularly raw - spectacularly graphic in blood and guts and sensational death.

Just asking - today I'd avoid a read like this before bedtime, to avoid the vivid dreams. The subject matter doesn't seem at all alike, but I thought I'd inquire ahead.

I finished "The Lost Symbol" Dan Brown last night. I loved the fast pace and the story but the last 15 to 20 pages seemed to just drag. It got a little preachy and seemed as though Brown wasn't sure how to end the book. I enjoyed all but the final pages.

Hi Petra, I live in the town where a good bit of The Hot Zone takes place and drive by many of the places described in the book on a daily basis. When I read the book I was amazed that all that was going on right around me and I never noticed.

The Reader is on my TBR but I feel as though a lot of my GR friends haven't enjoyed it, so I don't believe you're alone!

The Hot Zone is a really GOOD book! I love anything about viruses, especially Ebola, and Preston's writing is so atmospheric. It was really enjoyable for me (definitely a highly recommend book), because it not only throws you into the truth of it all, but mixes in fiction as well.

Woo, Fiona you are on a Thomas Harris kick! I have all of his books about the Hannibal Lector stories, except for Red Dragon.

Which one would you suggest I begin with? Go in order or start somewhere else?

As my husband had the whole series on audio as well as DVD lol. I started at the beginning Michelle. Would be ideal to get a grasp of the man as well as how it all began hon x

I just finished The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman and truly enjoyed the book. It will not be the last Gaiman book that I'll be reading. ♥

Well I read The Gaudi Key A Novel by Esteban Martín & Andreu Carranza it is the hebrew translation of the book and it is preety fast I realy like it.
I started to hear Outlander by Diana Gabaldon as well as I follow with the book. The truth is that I heared a couple of pages.
I also have in my ipod the last 4 parts of The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas and here I follow the book, this audiobook is a little different than my book but I like it.

Ooooo, Jen, Devil in the White City is a great book. I loved the details about the fair and the murder mystery thrown into the mix.
