What are you reading?

Ramadan Mubarak to you and your family.

It is indeed one of the most inventive murder mysteries I've ever read. I thoroughly enjoyed it. There is supposed to be a sequel but I haven't seen it advertized.

I loved Sarah's Key. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Sarah's Key by Tatiana de Rosnay
I liked the book up until the middle. I did not see the turn that she was going towards. Oh well. Now I do not know what to read.
Anyone have any suggestions? I want something that captivates me! Something I just canNOT for the life of me put down because I want to see how it ends.
I'm not picky on genre or author. Just something really good.

I enjoyed the Graveyard book, how do you like it?

Stephanie I read Time Traveler's Wife a few weeks ago and realized right off that if I hadn't seen the movie preview and known ahead of time that it is about him jumping around in time, not written in just her chronology,it would have been much more confusing to me too. I loved the story, but you definitely had to pay attention to what was going on, it wasn't a light read by any stretch. But I did love it nontheless. Dara

Well there are so many. I suggest The Rice Mother by Rani Manicka or Those Who Save Us by Jenna Blum

Michelle: Sarah's Key is an excellent novel. If you haven't already read Those Who Save Us by Jenna Blum or My Enemy's Cradle by Sara Young or Skeleton's at the Feast by Chris Bohjalian, I would also recommend these for interesting perspectives.

I am going to a booksale this weekend and will definitely seek out those titles and authors!
Linda: I never meant to offend you by saying that I did not like the turn that was taken during Sarah's Key. I did enjoy the novel, but the turn was so unanticipated and unexpected. Please don't take it to heart or take it offensively! :)

After that I need to start making a dent into my to be read pile.

Susanna, do you have 'The Girl That Played With Fire' ?? That is even more crazy-good than '...Dragon Tattoo' !!!
I'm excited to hear what you think of it!
Alicia, Have you read the 'Sookie Stackhouse' series? Do you feel that 'The Vampire Academy' is along the same lines as those are? (Awkward way to ask you if you feel if they are as well written!!!)
I heard on 'E' channel that there is a 'Vampire Academy' series starting next week on T.V.
:D

How about something by Phillipia Gregory --- The Other Boelyn Girl or Wideacre - those are hard to put down.

You might like the Gemma Doyle Trilogy by Libba Bray. The first book is called The Great and Terrible Beauty.
Also I really enjoyed City of Bones and City of Ashes by Cassandra Clare. I haven't read the third book yet.

I was just at Borders yesterday and they had a whole bunch of The Lace Reader in trade paperback.

My book is in portuguese. :-) My father gave it to me.

Barnes and Nobles has The Lace Reader for $11.99 on line.

Thanks for mentioning Founding Mothers, Carol! I've been thinking of ordering it for my mom. I've only heard good things about it...

Suzanne: I just saw The Lace Reader at B&N in paper form. That's seems odd. Do you have a secondhand book store near you? Perhaps they have it.

Melody, this is one of my favorites! I loved reading the story through the perception of the child looking for his father. I also liked his phrases, such as "heavy boots."
