The movie version of 'It' scared the hell out of me!
"
The movie used to really scare me too but the book has so much more in it that I find really terrifying

Thats right, Gotta Get On.....I may have to rent the movie again soon.

I thought it was simple & predictable.

Tani, I managed to finish reading it but I can't say I enjoyed it a lot. Like Lisa said, the direction which the characters were developed were rather...weird (for lack of a better word). At first I kept an open mind about it but after a while I just couldn't believe that this would be the way the characters of P&P would turn out in 20 years...that and I found the plot of the story rather boring =(

Oh yes, it was really good! I'm already thinking about getting another of John Wyndham's books... and the TBR pile just keeps on growing, heh.
But for now, I'm reading Tender Is the Night.

The Chosen One-Fast Read, but it had a lot of depth and was very emotional.
Princess of the Midnight Ball-good, quick read- love Jessica Day George
Don't Judge a Girl by Her Cover-this series is always enjoyable, will look forward to the next one
Now to finish The Big Over Easy and Extracurricular Activities so I can read the sequels for the Fall Challenge.

I LOVED "The Dress Lodger" when I read it. It did take some getting into but not too long before you become enmeshed in the characters lives. Hope you'll end up liking it.

There is a sequel to "Valley" Lauren. I think it's called "Shadow of the Dolls" and continues in the characters lives. I thought it was pretty good but not as good as the first one of course. It was started by Suzanne but finished by her sister? or friend after her death.

Now I'm reading Toni Morrison's Beloved, about half way through and really enjoying it.

I watched Tender is the Night because I liked both Peter Strauss (playing Dick Diver) and Fitzgerald very much.
I then read the book and enjoyed it even more. I wanted to smack Nicole.
If I hadn't read so much Fitzgerald the decadence would make it almost like fantasy.

Thanks for the info! I will have to check it out!

I read Persepolis 1 The Story of a Childhood yesterday. It was a solid 4 stars.
I've been on a pretty long stretch of 3 star books, so now I'm starting Neil Gaiman's Fragile Things Short Fictions and Wonders, hoping he'll break me out of my rut.

I recently joined another interesting GoodReads group called "Short Story Lovers." You should check it out to track down additional titles by short story authors you enjoy (or even find new ones!)

I've been a bit scattered, reading a few books at the same time; but I hope now that I can settle down to one at a time again.
Now I'm reading Ghostwritten by David Mitchell.

Had to park both of the books I was reading (The Story of Edgar Sawtelle, which started out really well and then lost me; The Invention of Everything Else, strange couldn't get into it - will come back to both later).
Will start The Earth Hums in B Flat, a YA mystery set in 1950s Wales.
