I enjoy the back-and-forth device though in some cases (like this one) I like one storyline a lot better than the other, and towards the end I fear I was skimming the bits about Connie's rather tedious hunt for the Book.

I finally finished The Princes of Ireland. It was just okay. The second half could have been called "A History of the English (Tudors) in Dublin." I would have been more interested in seeing what was going on in the rest of the country.

I've already almost finished Queen of the Darkness. I just love this fantasy series!

I'm currently reading The Meaning of Night by Michael Cox. I'm enjoying it quite a bit. It moves along like sludge running uphill, but I occasionally like books like that.

I started to read The Departed A Novel but I didn't realize when I swapped for it that it was a Christian Chiller. Not really my thing. I did really try to give it a chance because the story sounded interesting but I couldn't get into it. So I went back to Tower Hill which is infinitely better.

Finally finished Angel's Game. That book took me forever to read (well two weeks but it felt like an eternity. Now I am onto The Memory Keeper's Daughter. I also leave for Florida on Friday and will be taking along The Tenth Justice and Nineteen Minutes.

Just finished The Forest of Hands and Teeth. It's a decent read if you don't mind hearing a lot about people being savaged by zombies, but I didn't get what all the hype was about.

Yeah Ana, Trixie was one character I despised in the book. I just couldn't relate with her and her actions. While trying to create a suspense, Jodi doesn't concentrate much on this character.

Speaking of YA, ;-) Coming out of the Time Traveler's Wife and the Reader, I finished The Book Thief yesterday. I hated the first 50 pages, couldn't "get" why death kept breaking in with more side information. I tolerated the next 100 pages, kept reading to the mid point, and then, the sky opened and the slightest ray of sun crept in and I read the second half yesterday--and I loved it. Last night I started The Heretic's Daughter by Kathleen Kent...Wow what a book. I put everything on hold this evening and took to my lounge chair to read for two hours. Now am heading to bed to read some more. Love this book. Next? The Miracles of Santo Fico by DL Smith and On Agate Hill by Lee Smith and then to The Lace Reader.

@(G)Emma: unfortunately I don't remember book 1 that well... I think they seem about equally good. I found the story -- the revelations, getting to know the world -- more exciting in book 1, but kind of like the characters better now they've gotten to know each other better. Except I don't like how Jace is becoming a jerk.

I just finished Heart Shaped Box by Joe Hill (a.k.a. Stephen King's son) and it was okay. I usually don't like to read scary stories, but this one was a quick read and fairly enjoyable.

I'm about to start Jonathon Strange & Mr. Norrell by Susanna Clarke. It has some good reviews, but is a little out of the genre I normally read. I'm hoping for the best!

Really wasn't sure going into it how I'd feel about it, as I loved A Room With A View, hated Where Angels Fear to Tread and was lukewarm about A Passage to India. Now I will start The Sunday Night Book Club a "Breast Cancer Awareness Book Ring" - 24 short stories. I recognize only two authors, Alexander McCall Smith and Tracy Chevalier, but it should be fun.

Will also start (soon) The Story of Edgar Sawtelle - I re-read Hamlet recently so I should be prepared!!

Just finished Harlan Coben's Long Lost and really enjoyed it. In fact, I just about broke the land speed record reading it. Coben is a master and very, very funny. I'm thinking about starting Mudbound by Hillary Jordan.

Tolkien's my favourite author around. I love his imagination, the way he was able to create such a world and his prose =D
