Finished Snow Flower and the Secret Fan, which I enjoyed. Finishing up The Italian Quarter, engaging but needs editing work (the last 4 books I have read had serious editing problems... or maybe it's just me being too finicky!)

Next up Life of Pi.

I just finished it and loved it! Great read! My edition had notes on all the fairy tales and myths used to write the book which was wonderful.

I am currently reading Rose of No Man's Land, but I might have to set it aside because I really want to read Abarat by Clive Barker! I found it at Half Price Books yesterday on clearance for $2!!

Mary: I have to admit, I could not put this book down and finished it in one gulp. I probably should have savored it more because it is such a wonderful read that I am still thinking about it and recommending it to all my friends. Enjoy!

Just finished The System of the World, which is the final book of Neal Stephenson's Baroque Cycle. I really enjoyed all three books. The review for this last book is Here.

I DID IT!!! i finally finished John Adams!!!!

even though it took me more than 2 months to finish it, it was totally worth it. i learned so much about Adams and the early years of our government that i had never known before. i am so glad i picked up, and stuck with, this particular book!

i am really enjoying The Thirteenth Tale, I just love the characters and the way it pulls you in. I take it to work to read on my break but I always end up going over my break time trying to finish a chapter. I hate leaving off a page or two before a chapter ends, I always have to end a chapter -.-

I'm still listening to The 19th Wife A Novel. This is one long book, but I'm almost done! I like it, but will post a review when I'm done. I tried to read Wife no. 19, or the story of a life in bondage Being a complete exposeÌ of Mormonism, and revealing the sorrows, sacrifices in tandem with it, but I don't think I'm going to make it through that one.

I'm also still working on Year of Wonders which seems to be going slow for me, but I also haven't had a lot of time to read the last week or so.

I'm hoping to move on to something new soon!

I just finished "Stiff, The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers" by Mary Roach. I loved it, because she has a sense of humor and a healthy dose of respect about her subject. If you are at all medically minded and interested in western medicine's perspectives on death and the soul, this is a glimpse into that world.
Now I'm starting "Invitation to a Beheading" by Vladimir Nabokov. Although the titles seem related and I must appear really morbid, I've wanted to read this one since so much discussion about this author and text appear in "Reading Lolita in Tehran" -Azar Nafisi.

Right now I'm reading Fortune's Folly and The Animal Activists Handbook Maximizing Our Positive Impact in Today's World and iPhone For Dummies Includes iPhone 3GS while I wait for No Time to Wave Goodbye A Novel to arrive, which is my latest Goodreads First Reads win. I'm very anxiously awaiting the publication on 9/1 of Catching Fire .

Invitation to a Beheading is a twisted sort of novel, but one of Nabokovs best if you ask me (although I have only read a handful of his novels....)

Finished the Italian Quarter, which started out as a nice fictionalized memoir of an Anglo-Italian family and turned into a really irritating explanation of why it wasn't so bad that English citizens of Italian descent joined the Fascist Party and followed Mussolini. Really pissed me off: my review here

I just loved Hannah's Dream A Novel! I thought it was a warm and sweet story and it did keep me going. I was rooting for Hannah the whole way!

Akittykat, Im glad you liked it. Had you seen the movie yet? Suprizingly, it does the book justice. I ♥ Saramago... if you liked Blindness, you should pick up Seeing, its the sort-of sequel to the book.
