Thanks, Jenna. I went out yesterday and bought The Time Traveler's Wife, so I may read that next before I see the movie - I can't wait to read The Courious Incident though - I'm glad you liked it.

That does sound intriguing, I'll have to check it out.

I know what you mean, I felt the same way. I enjoyed the movie and the way it ended.

I finished yesterday "The Grapes of Wrath" by John Steinbeck and loved it, it's a five star book for me. I loved the way Steinbeck wrote.
Today I will start "The Name of the Rose including Postscript to the Name of the Rose" by Umberto Echo. I have the greek translation (the book has 890 pages, but the letters are preety big).
Have a nice reading day

John Steinbeck is one of my favorite authors. You must read Travels With Charlie if you have not done so.

Thanks!

Hi Michael,
I tried to look up a synopsis of your book
Black Shoes but could not find one. What is the story about?"
Hello,
the book is about a property developer who is having an identity crisis. Through explorations of love, friendships and paranoia, it's the story of a professional man's quest to fight his way through a a maze of stereotypes, and his own personal quest for his identity.

I'm just about to crack open 'The Other Queen' by Philippa Gregory. I love her Tudor series, so I have high hopes... :)

Somebody was telling me about that book the other day. The author has the same name as my mum, so it immediately stood out to me! I'll be checking it out.

Let me know how you like it. I liked her Tudor series also, but will be interested to get your take on this one

I'm also just read UNACCUSTOMED EARTH by Jhumpa Lahiri. I enjoyed it, but did wonder if she gets tired about writing slight variations on the same characters in the same settings.

Me too. But I stopped after awhile...:I

I am hoping to get through it. The first 30 pages were rough, but I am doing well now.

I'm currently reading Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen in preparation for Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. It's slow going...lots of dialogue...but it's alright. My goal is to finish it before I leave for school on the 22nd.

Wow. For me, a perfect book. It transported me to a different time and place (post-war France, 1940's). It was introspective and character driven. It had a plot. It was beautifully written. I guess I'm just an old fashioned girl at heart, but it was simply a corking good read!
