I am reading SHANGHAI GIRLS by Lisa See and I am loving it.

Today, I finished Wings by Aprilynne Pike, and I liked it well enough.

Angela | 1934 comments Reading Prozac Nation (for the summer challenge) and it is tough to get through for me...just seems like enless rambling on by the author!

Sarah (Mood Reader) (bookworm1887) Anyone read a book that makes them feel like a snail in how slow they read it?

JG (Introverted Reader) I finally finished Captain Corelli's Mandolin. There were about a hundred pages that I just loved but the rest was just okay.

Read through How I Live Now really quickly. It was just okay too.

Now I've got a good start on Mistress of the Art of Death and I'm really enjoying it so far.

JG (Introverted Reader) Eva, I saw your post about A Season in the Life of Emmanuel and how you couldn't find your edition on here. Is it one of these? One about halfway down the list was published this year.

Alisha Marie (endlesswonderofreading) | 715 comments I just picked Reading Lolita in Tehran A Memoir in Books off my shelves (after browsing for a good half hour) and am enjoying it so far, though I'm not far into it yet.

message 12610: by Fiona (Titch) (new)

Fiona (Titch) Hunt (titch) I tried A Winter's Tale - Mark Helprin & I tried The Dante's Club - Matthew Pearl. So I am gonna read Over The Edge - Jonathan Kellerman.

The host is one of my favorite. Can't wait to read "The seeker" this year. I think in November.

GracieKat | 864 comments I read Darkly Dreaming Dexter and absolutely loved it! I literally could not put it down. I started on The Exorcist after that and I'm about 20-30 pages in.

message 12616: by [deleted user] (new)

I've just finished Finger Lickin Fifteen by Janet Evanovich and I'm currently in the middle of Who Killed Bianca by Emma Darcy.

message 12617: by Linda (new)

Linda | 887 comments Just finished Promise Me by Harlan Coben and really liked it. This is my first Myron Bolitar novel, though I have read other Coben books. Myron is just quirky enough for me to like him. I would have given it 5 stars, but it got a bit predictable at the end.

Barbara Scutt (morgannac64) Mister God, This Is Anna

I've read it many times before but it always affects me.

Liz (hissheep) Listening to "The Scarecrow" by Michael Connelly

message 12621: by Dree (new)

Dree I just started Undone by Karin Slaughter. I received my copy through the Goodreads First Reads program, it's the first book I have gotten.

I have never read anything by her before, and it is moving fast. It is also a bit gory for me. Kind of like Criminal Minds (the TV show) on paper. I suspect it will be creepy soon enough, but don't know yet. I may not be able to read it in the dark :)

Jennifer (JenJen1221) | 215 comments I finished My Sister's Keeper now I'm going to read Emma.

Lyn (Readinghearts) (lsmeadows) I am half-way through The Broken Shore A Novel and am just starting Legacy for my Tudor group.

As for The Book Thief, I must be the only person on the planet that picked that book up, read about two chapters, and decided I didn't like it. Everyone in all my groups seems to rave about it, including my sister. I'm thinking I must have missed something and should try it again.

So far (50 pages in) I like it. The dark humour is just hilarious. And the case was not what I was expecting. I do like surprises :)

Not so crazy, I wanted to read them again, too!

message 12645: by Angela (new)

Angela Hey there! I am currently reading The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton and am really enjoying it. Recent great books I've read include Cutting for Stone by A. Verghese, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo by S. Larsson (I'm waiting for the next one to come out in the U.S. at the end of this month: The Girl Who Played With Fire) and A Reliable Wife by R. Goolrick.

Lyn, I only read a couple of chapters of The Book Thief and stopped. It just didn't grab me at all-i don't know why.

message 12648: by Emily (new)

Emily I just finished "King Solomon's Mines" by H. Rider Haggard - pretty incredible story! Now I am on to The Monsters of Templeton by Lauren Groff. It is great so far and living in Upstate NY makes it feel extra close to home.

Atlas Shrugged - Ayn Rand. It took me almost 2 weeks to get through that one. I found it interesting, but I just couldn't seem to keep going in it.

For some reason I felt that way with "Nineteen Minutes".
