uhm.. I saw that. I liked that movie. Its along the same vein, sort of. But not quite the same thing. If you know what I mean.

Sherry and Lorena, sorry to hear about your kids.
I sure hope this stuff isnt contagious through the computer.. haa haa... so far so lucky for all of us! Hope everyone is getting better. Its too nice outside to be sick and miserable indoors!

BTW I am reading the road, and enjoying it so far.

Just started my shiny new delivery - The Story of Edgar Sawtelle and so far so good.

Lori... I think it is contagious... have been off work today - feel dreadful! Have spent most of the day asleep! Dragged myself out of bed in the hopes of feeling better, but feeling bad... so am now off back to bed!

Melanie, really enjoying Edgar Sawtell so far but only 100 pages in. Will keep you posted.
Thanks for the support Sherry, I'm so glad I found this site - I used to think I was alone in my bookaholism but there are loads of me! LOL!!!

Cassidy - Good luck. I hope you like the Historian. I usually like long flights because it is a rare opportunity to get that amount of consecutive reading time. However, layovers and beer can sometimes affect the reading....

I hate the airport, once I'm in my seat with my book out I'll be fine.

And no problem with the nomination, I just read that book in June and think it's a great novel to discuss.

My name is Linda. I have always been an avid reader, but since leaving my last job, I have tripled the number of books. I usually read 3-4 at a time, usually very different in topic and tone. I also download books from the local library to my MP3 and read while I exercise. Latest of the books I have thoroughly enjoyed:
The Story of Edgar Sawtelle - David Wroblewski - what a writer and this is his first.
Skeletons at the Feast - Chris Bojhalian - A difficult topic, but well worth the time.
Blue Heaven - C.J. Box - (Audio) This book was great for getting me into the story while doing a couple of miles on the track.
Die for Me - Karen Rose - After the first 20 pages, I couldn't put it down.

I finished Stephen Kings Drawing of the Three from the Dark Tower series yesterday and have started The Wastelands from the same series.

Sherry - Are you as hooked as others seem to be on the Dark Tower series? I've never read it but am thinking about adding it to my list.

I just finished Edgar Sawtelle and am going to tell everyone I know to read it. It is such a wonderful story, I was hooked from page one.

Next up, I think, will be Dark Angels. It's a historical set in restoration London, and looks interesting.

Maybe some of your choices will inspire me to read some more intellectually stimulating books. Or, maybe not :)

I'm still trying to decide what my next read for tonight will be. I didn't see that anyone else has read Chabon's Summerland so that might be what I end up picking up. Maybe I can actually get a few more in before the August read.

Fantastic!
Reading now a light fluff book, Cross Your Heart and Hope to Die by Nancy Martin. Need some fun silly reads for the weekend.
