IMHO, his best - I find this rule is often the case: An author's first is the best! Like John Grisham's "Time to Kill"!

Jenna,
I finally saw your post on Reluctant Fundamentalist. (Geesh, I work three days and there are a gazillion posts to catch up on!) I know what you are saying about leaving it up to us to decide, but I prefer a closed ending. I hate wondering and wondering. Oh well. It was still worth the ride!

I am so happy to see this post updated all day long every day. Its such a great thing to be able to read about what everyone else is reading..... even tho I hardly have the time to post anymore....

I read two books in two days last week. Recluctant Fundamentalist and As She Climbed Over the Table. Both were just too good to put down till they were done!

Now I am reading Treasure Island. I dont know why, but I never picked it up when I was younger. Im not very far into it, but I am liking it.

Alisha Marie (endlesswonderofreading) | 715 comments I finished True Stories of Law & Order SVU and it was just okay. I think with a book like that you have to be reading something else along with it otherwise you'll get bored eventually. I liked it enough and some of the cases were interesting.

Right now, I'm reading Heartsick by Chelsea Cain and it's good so far. It's been a while since I've read a police procedural and a good thriller, so I'm looking forward to reading it.

Liz I also just started The Beach House. For some reason I've been in the mood for light 'chic lit' lately!

Ann, I loved The Art of Racing in the Rain. I was so taken with that book that I bought his
How Evan Broke His Head and Other Secrets, but have not had the chance to start reading it yet. Would love to know what you think of Enzo.

Lisa "Mistress of the Art of Death"--a Christmas gift from my spouse and his nose was getting bent out of shape that it hadn't just flown to the top of the TBR pile. It's certainly a different story than I normally read but interesting so far.

Fiona (Titch) Hunt (titch) Just about to finish Christmas, Present - Jacquelyn Mitchard. Will then read I am the Messenger - Markus Zusak.

I've been wondering how you're doing with Messenger Fiona. You gotta get past the bank robbery part at the beginning to get into his quest, where it becomes so interesting and unique too.

My mother is so not a science fiction fan and she's read and enjoyed The Martian Chronicles. She was the one who gave it to me, actually, when I was about ten.

message 8176: by Selena (new)

Selena (selenacurrently) I'm currently reading Revolutionary Road (yes, I'm on the RR bandwagon!) and the Undertaking. So far, both are really great but RR is the better of the two! :)

Anyone else reading it?

message 8177: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Selena, it's in my TBR pile but I keep passing it over when I choose a new book because I fear that it's going to be a real downer.

Maria and Melissa, I so loved the Heretic's Daughter - the Salem Witch Trials told from a totally different perspective! Since I live in the next town over from Salem MA, it was even more poignant and interesting ...

message 8187: by Jane(Janelba) (new)

Jane(Janelba) (janelba) I'm reading Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer.
I am really enjoying these easy to read books as they are full of things to think about and emotions etc. So glad I got to read them all one straight after the other too !
I can't put them down. I anticipate finishing it in a day or so and then I don't know what I will read lol.

Oh, I have that book but haven't read it. I'll be interested what you think of it.

I took my time reading through "A Fraction of the Whole" and thoroughly enjoyed it. Although I think it went on for a little too long, the characters were incredibly interesting. I've now started The Devil's Bones A Novel by Jefferson Bass.

It sounds weird enough I'll probably like it! I'll have to kick it up higher in the TBR pile. I loved Motherless Brooklyn (of course), and I also enjoyed his "Girl In Landscape", another odd but good book.

I'm having a hard time with Everything Is Illuminated A Novel - is it me? did everyone love it or not?
