Good evening, all!

This is the first post for my first discussion group - so I hope I'm doing this OK : )

I'm currently reading The Mentor Leader - and I'm wondering what others think about the statement on p. 27...about making it impossible for other people to give you credit.

As embarrassing as this is to admit, this statement gave me pause. I've spent a chunk of my professional life under the impression that it's as important to be recognized as it is to give credit to others. So I've tried to be humble - but also to make my contributions known where appropriate.

Maybe the desire for invisibility comes with maturity. We spend the first part of our professional (and perhaps personal) lives wanting to be noticed by others...then "graduate" to giving credit to them without the need to feed the ego.

Thoughts?
