Description:
The Orphanage is still quite the run-down building. Despite having been turned into an orphanage by the government, it's still very, very poorly taken care of. There are holes in the walls; once lively wallpaper now dull and faded as it peels whilst rats and other pests scurry about the floorboards.
They are fed the bare-minimum requirements to be considered well endowed, and can only rely on each other for support as multiple blunt-faced and large-bodied guards prowl the hallways at night and sweep the house constantly; checking for those who are stepping out of line.
The children are mostly kept outside in the back yard; a fenced-off area that has trees and actually living grass (albeit filled with nasty bugs), though none of the branches reach anywhere near the edge of the fences; which are tipped with electrocuted barbed wire. The guards are relentless with punishments... And at times, are often eager to give out whoopings.
They are woken up in the morning at 8 sharp, breakfast at 8:15, then shoved outside until 12:30 for lunch. After that, they're allowed quiet whisperings as they sit in a large gathering space within the house (which is the house's library and living room connected by a smashed-down wall) before 7; when they are expected to tidy up and get to bed at exactly 8, when lights MUST go out.
This RP is situated in a time around the late 1990's. Technology isn't that advanced, although they have electricity and running water. However, inside the house, no electronics of any kind are allowed. They are cut off from all communication outside of the house unless they are contacting siblings who have already left; which is a rare exception to the no-outside-contact rule.

One hundred years later, the old house was turned into an old orphanage, filled with miserable children who all want different lives. Children who'd do anything for a better, more comfortable life.
The beldam offers that. But she also carries a dark delight...
The Orphanage has lost many children to her, all of whom who never come back. So, will you be a lucky one, or are you like all the rest?
