Reflect on what you have read this year: What three books you have read best represent your reading this year? Naturally, you'll include your favorite and explain why it speaks to you, but don't stop there. What titles show your depth, breadth, and growth as a reader? In light of this, what is one reading goal you still wish to accomplish before the school year is over?

Of the 45 books I've read this school year, some clear patterns emerge. My fascination for YA literature is best represented by the under-appreciated Seth Baumgartner's Love Manifesto by Eric Luper , a book that is funny but also full of heart. My reading of The Boxer and the Spy reflects my willingness to try new authors, and Adios, Nirvana by Conrad Wesselhoeft is by far the best recent book I've read, one that includes serious ideas about the meaning of life in the face of despair.

With only five weeks before finals, I need to read something more substantial (longer? more complex? deeper?) and Rotters by Daniel Kraus or The Monstrumologist (The Monstrumologist, #1) by Rick Yancey might fit that goal.

I think its safe to say that this book answers the 'what if, questions' I always tend to question about my self and books in general. I also have enjoyed Before I Die and The Weight of Silence, both books that didnt fall short of amazing! I enjoy books that make me question my own self. TO BE CONTINUED!

After that i finished a series i started last year the hunger games. I read Catching Fire and then the third book Mockingjay. For my final pattern i noticed that i read books that get back to nature like Touching Spirit Bearand Hatchet. Whith the last couple of weeks of school approaching I would like to read a very long and some what challenging book because my reading lately seems to be easy.

Two books that i enjoyed a lot were by the same author John Irving are The Hotel New Hampshire and The Cider House Rules. These two books made me question the decisions i make in my life and how they will affect my future. I like books that are challenging and that make me think hard.

Maryn Robinson | 5 comments Out of all the books I have read this year, there are a few that really stand out to me. Heartsick was a book that really interested me and held my interest throughout the entire book. Three other books that really caught my attention were
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played with Fire, and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest. These three books were thrilling and and kept me entertained. They were very well written and challenging.

Of all the books I have read this year, there are a few that really stand out to me. The Red Tent by Anita Diamant was the most interesting book I have read since the beginning of the semester, I treasure it because it simply speaks to my heart. The Clan of the Cave Bear (Earth's Children, #1) by Jean M. Auel sastified my insatiable hunger for great description and vocabulary. The story itself is priceless. Finally, Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden was a book I read last semester. The rich history produced in the form of one human memory is enticing to me. All three books above describe my interest in reading overall.
