Christian Vago (Vago) | 7 comments Greetings, all! My name is Christian Vago and I'm an indie author too. This summer I published the first volume of my two-volume novel "The Rotted Garden" (a mix of historical fiction and gothic suspense with some philosophy thrown in for good measure), available internationally through numerous retailers. Volume Two ought to be ready before Christmas. Click my profile to check it out.

Once the second volume is out, I'll try to have a giveaway too--or maybe have a two-for-one sale. I'm still new at this, but I'm sure everyone here has been in that situation. Is anyone else here writing a blend of historical fiction and suspense?

Best of luck to everyone here!

I've already picked up some great advice browsing through the posts from this group and look forward to being a member!

message 1356: by Nicky (new)

Nicky Gardiner Hi all,

I am a new author and very new to Good Reads. A friend suggested I join as I have a book out and they felt it would help me reach genuine book lovers. my first book 'The Showman And The Shade' The Showman And The Shade by Nicky P. Gardiner is out now in paper back and as an E book.

It is a stand alone novel but has a follow up in the works and at present I plan on three with the possibility of more in the pipeline. It is a ghosts story from the perspective of the ghost, so rather than being scary it is about that next step after we die. I try to also explain various phenomenon that is associated with ghosts or spirits from the spirit (or Shades) point of view. many say they enjoy the dark humour and the twisting plot, as it is a tale of manipulation and revenge.

Like many Indie authors I am learning that writing a good book is half the battle getting people to know it exists is the harder part. Please check it out.

Patricia Gulley Hi, I'm Patricia (Pat) Gulley, and my first mystery is Downsized To Death. About a working travel agent in 2001, before disaster hit, though the travel industry's problems had already begun. Find it here on Goodreads.
My upcoming mystery, Brownstone Burial, will be out soon. This one takes place in NYC in 1963, prior to the tragedy in November. It is about airline reservation departments. Waves of people left small towns and headed for the big city to seek a better life. My protag also leaves to escape her reputation of associating with the dead. She goes to airline school, and becomes a res agent, but falls in love with those wonderful old buildings, Brownstones. So old, so haunted, and ghosts are so demanding.

Jonathan Stratman (jonathanthomasstratman) | 2 comments I'm Jonathan Thomas Stratman. My Cheechako series takes a boy from Boston to adventures in wild Alaska. The series is set just enough in the past to allow Will, his Athabascan friend Elias, and his lead dog, Blackie, to survive by their wits, not their computer or cell phone. With two books out: "Cheechako" (means greenhorn), and "Float Monkeys," and a third one "Musher!" near. The series is well-reviewed for family values and reluctant readers, both a bit of a surprise to me, as I just wanted to write exciting books for myself and for the boy I was in grade 5.

Millen Livis (millenlivis) | 2 comments Hi Everyone,
I'm new to Goodreads. I have already written three books in the Dare to Change Life series (self-help) and am busy writing my fourth book. I self-published them in a mini-book format for my clients and workshops but they have never been available on Amazon. I will only publish the first one in ebook format on Amazon in September, and then the others after that. I have a lot to do in the meantime with regards to establishing my ‘author platform’ and working with social media etc. There is quite a bit more to a book launch than I knew about! Hoping to get some tips from this group.
Thanks for having me.
Best,
Millen
