Rowena (outofprintwriting) Hi everyone

I'm Rowena Wiseman, I write literary fiction and children's stories. I live in Melbourne, Australia ...

I've just self-published my first novel Searching for Von Honningsbergs - one exhibition, three paintings, an art world scam and a struggle with the true value of art.

Searching for Von Honningsbergs was longlisted for the Australian Vogel Award in 2007. I've recently published it on Screwpulp - a new digital publishing platform changing the way we discover books.

You can see it here http://www.screwpulp.com/?browse&... or through my Goodreads author page!

I also write a blog sharing everything I'm learning about publishing in this digital age, including small presses, social media, tips from other writers/publishers/agents etc http://outofprintwriting.blogspot.com

Cheers

Rowena

Ann (annhunter) | 11 comments I'm Ann and I write YA. Currently it's YA Fantasy, but I don't limit myself to specific genres other than YA. My first book The Subtle Beauty has been on the market for a little over a month and has been selling a copy per day consistently. My next book, Moonlight, is due out in March and I couldn't be more excited.

Andy Mulberry (andymulberry) | 1 comments Hi! I'm Andy, writer and reader of all things middle grade to YA! I've decided to go the indie route and publish a series of middle grade chapter books.

I'm currently running a Kickstarter to raise funds. Kickstarter is a fun experiment so far. I've made a few new friends there and found book reviewers.

Speaking of friends, I'm lonely here on GR, friend me if you like :)

Andrea Hello! My name is Andrea L Floyd, and I published my first book last year. I'm a professional animal communicator and my book, Conscious Transitions - Finding Comfort, Connection and Peace When Your Pet is Dying, is about learning to communicate with your pets when they are preparing to leave their bodies, and making it a time of beauty and growth. My current project is a children's series where talking animals and intrigue abound! Also, I'm looking for a few reviews on my current book and will either mail a paperback copy or email an EBook to potential reviewers. I am happy to review for others as well.

Zack Love (zacklove) | 5 comments Hi everyone, I'm Zack Love, author of stories ranging from hilarious romantic comedies from the male POV ("Sex in the Title") to more serious reflections on life (like my new release, "The Doorman," which is out today -- see below for a blurb and links) The Doorman a Novelette by Zack Love

Alex seems to have it all: a great penthouse apartment, a lovely girlfriend, and a prestigious Wall Street job. But below the surface he is sure of nothing but his angst-ridden doubts. And when he realizes that his doorman may be God, or sent by God, he will question things like never before.

This novelette is a story of New York doormen, tormented love, empty office life, and the theological questions that arise in response to the horrors of evil.

Melody Gatto (tanger_chick58) | 20 comments Hi,
My name is Melody. I am an aspiring author. I like to write contemporary romance, most of my current stories have some form of hockey in them. I write whenever a story hits me. Currently I have a series started, two novels and a novellas completed. I have a novel in progress and many I'd like to write. I have a stand alone novella that I am looking into e-publishing. Trying to learn all that I can.
I am a big hockey fan, my hometown team is my favorite, the Pittsburgh Penguins. I am a mom and a wife. I am also lucky enough to currently be only working a small part time job, and have the time to write.
This is all new to me, and would prefer not to put the novella out there with grammar mistakes. That is what is holding me back. I have my cover picked out, and three "teasers" made up ready to put out there. Any advice or suggestions would be welcome.
I would love the opportunity to do both traditional and e-publishing, but feel e-publishing is right for me at the moment and right for the novella.
Oh, and I LOVE to read, especially about hockey romance.
Okay, I guess I've bored you enough :)

David Rose Hi, I'm David Rose and I just started writing seriously. I released Moonlight, a 43-page ebook through Smashwords a month ago and am finding my way around. Moonlight is Fantasy-Romance-YA. I'm now working on a much more ambitious grand fantasy. I'm interested in getting people to review my writing and give me constructive feedback on it, and I am happy to do the same for others. You'll find my website at www.weblink1.co.za; there is a teaser for the new book there which I hope someone will comment on! Finally, if anyone wants help with cover design (at no charge, if I agree to do it), I'm not untalented at CG.

David Rose Melody wrote: "Hi,

Hi Melody, I would be happy to have a look at your work if you would like to send me a copy. I use the Calibre reader so what format it's in doesn't really matter, I can convert it. You can find my email address on my website: just look under 'Contact me', or just use the contact form.

Re e-publishing, have a good look at starting with Smashwords.com: they distribute automatically, and reformat automatically, for a number of commercial sites including Apple's iBooks, Barnes&Noble, Kobo, Flipkart, PageFoundry and some library links. Amazon is theoretically connected as well but I found it's best to add that yourself. If you start by reading the Smashwords formatting guide and then their marketing guide you will be well on your way.

I hope you find this helpful!

Benjamin King | 4 comments My name is Benjamin King. Got one ebook on Amazon select and in the process of releasing the sequel. Had to quit Smashwords to join Amazon select, but they weren't showing me much anyway. The series I'm doing is about a young country singer who gets involved in mysteries and murders and affairs with beautiful women. I think I have something unique since my hero writes a hit song in each volume and records it (a link at the end offers an MP3 file of the song.) http://www.amazon.com/When-Lady-Lies-...

I'm an avid reader, and I'm beginning to love indie books because I can download them on my android and go, and mainly because I like to support the authors. I myself am an indie writer, and just released my debut novel. I am also a graphic designer and hope to put my services out there for book covers. My blog is here: http://hkrowe.com

Cas Blomberg (casblomberg) | 3 comments Hi! My name is Cas and I'm an American living in Sweden. It's almost summer here, so we're all alive and poking our heads out to see the rest of the world. I spent the cold, dark winter finishing my first book Ashborne and published it a few weeks ago. I'll spend the summer working on the second.

I love reading anything. Really, anything! Biographies, history, geography, parenting books, chick lit, romance, suspense. I love it all. I especially love Sci-fi and Fantasy, but have noticed I'm a bit more critical of those genres. I'm not sure why. Maybe because I invest more of myself in them? Or those are the genres I write in so I hold myself to a high standard? Am I the only one who does that?

Benjamin King | 4 comments I went with the Amazon KDP select program and gave away my book When a Lady Lies for five days. The second day it has gone to #2 on the list, which makes me happy and gives my work a lot of exposure. There are up and down sides to the select program, but you might want to try it when you publish.
