Hi Xavier.. Nice to meet you both :)

Well I can't say I'm an indie author YET, but I'm working on it! :) I'm halfway through my first book, a YA paranormal romance novel. It's going to be a trilogy - that's the plan anyway. The series is called The Phoenix Heir, and book one is Firestorm. I have no education in writing, but it's a big hobby of mine that I'd like to make a profession, and this project is my baby. lol. So, if anyone would like to read some of what I have so far, the first ten chapters are available here and I'd LOVE some feedback! Oh, my author website is in the works as well. www.authorambercross.com, and I'll have the first couple of chapters posted there soon as well.
I'm an avid reader, a sucker for paranormal romance obviously, and I support my indie author friends in any way I can. My education is actually in graphic design, so I work with a lot of indie authors in their book cover designs. My design website is www.ethinkgraphics.com. This isn't an advertisement scheme or anything. Like I said, I want to publish my book and I really love writing! I just happen to be able to design my own covers as well and I don't mind helping other authors out while I'm at it!
Anyway, that's my story! I hope to get some feedback on my writing, good or bad, and I look forward to meeting more like minded people!
Take Care!

You sound very busy! I will take a look at your sites when I get a chance. I run a small publishing company for independent authors, and am an author as well, currently writing my second book - very, very slowly. If I can help with anything let me know.
Kath :-)

Thanks!

I look forward to getting to know you all.

I am originally from Yorkshire but now in the not very wilds of Shropshire. I went on a writing course at Lumb Bank near Hebden Bridge when I was at sixth form. Yorkshire is an excellent place to write!
You've done loads already, I feel ashamed I have only completed one book to date :-)

Yorkshire is a great place to write. It's best up in the Dales where the landscapes are epic. Several places in Yorkshire inspired The Prophecy of Three. I've visited Hebden Bridge a few times, it's a great place.
I'll check your book out. :)

Thanks Sam, my book is Writing the Town Read http://amzn.to/18v4TTj but I publish for other people too, who are all independent authors, hence the Heddon Publishing ID. I went to sixth form in Harrogate, university in Hull, and was born in Leeds - and lived in Doncaster too - so I've definitely seen a bit of Yorkshire!

I do miss Yorkshire, but have moved around quite a lot so miss pretty much everywhere! I harbour dreams of moving to Cornwall one day but for now I just have to set me books there :-)

A few scenes in Prophecy of Three the Keys of Time are set in Cornwall, Devon too, it's just an epic part of the country that i thought it had to be included in the series.

My name is Lyn C. Johanson and I just published my first book on amazon. Of course, it's only the beginning. I have so many plans... so many stories I want to tell. (my stories are of paranormal romance variety by the way :) )
And I look forward to meeting you all!

Good to meet you.

Never imagined how many indie authors are there... It's a whole new world.

Hello, everyone. I have just published my first novel, an epic fantasy called Awakenings: Book I of the Avatar of Calderia Trilogy. My first love is classic fantasy, but I read and enjoy all sorts of books. Being new to all this, I'm happy to find a group where I have the chance to meet and talk to the authors and readers who come here. I am looking forward to sharing discussions about our work. Your thoughts, comments and reviews would be very helpful, and I would be happy to do the same in return.
Please feel free to send me a friend request here on GR and to visit me on facebook at www.facebook.com/AvatarOfCalderia
My website is www.avatarofcalderia.com
I'm also doing a giveaway at www.goodreads.com/giveaway/show/76228

Feel free to join in; I'm up to 99 fans, and would love to see it go 100 before the New Year.
Also, don't hesitate to friend me here at Goodreads.
