Hoping to share some of the ups and downs of being an indie author.

Hello, my name is Belinda Arlane, author of The First Temptation, Tempter. It is nice to be a part of this group!
I have ten books as a giveaway on Goodreads.com
I started my first blog titled, "Eve, What She Threw Away." Check it out. Tell me what you think.
I love many genres: Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Christian Fantasy, Historical and Horror. I have incorporated them all into my novel. I know it is a bit obsessive, but I could not help myself!
Hope to hear from you soon!

Now I just need to update my website. The fun never ends!

For those interested, here is my forthcoming book (due out in October) -- THE DAWN OF GLOBAL SENSE: Awakening to the Rising Global Consciousness Now Changing Our Lives (A call for world enlightenment inspired by Thomas Paine's Common Sense). http://hokuhouse.com/dawn-global-sense/

I am Ramona, and I am an author. I am working on preparing my first book- BANISHED LOVE- for publication, and don't have a firm date yet, but hopefully first part of next year. I enjoy reading all sorts of books, although I most enjoy romance and historical fiction.
My blog is at: http://ramonaflightner.wordpress.com

I'm excited to be in this group and hope to meet other new authors starting out.

are you a new author, Xavier? Do you have a book out there?

I've been self-publishing for a little over a year, now, so I'm still rather wet behind the ears.
As to book(s) I've published -- If you look at my GR profile, you'll see the list of titles I've published so far (including being able to download some of the free ones right from GR). I don't think it appropriate to clutter this thread with a list of what I've put out.
What about you?

Looking forward to learning more about this group

@ Taylor - If you take a look at the Amazon pages for my books, you'll see that I don't have too many reviews up for my titles, but that's because I don't tend to push hard for them from readers. I distribute free copies to people who want to review, and look through the various GR groups in the genre and see whether they have R2R or similar review activity in place.
As to getting the word out, I think I'm still struggling with that, but keep at it and sooner or later people will start finding your work. It took over a month before I made my first sale.

Nice to meet you all!

You may want to take a look at the Author Services on authorsdb.com. There are a number of links for editors that are geared towards indie authors. Take a look at a several to get an idea on cost.

I'm a fiction author, but also run an editing business. Feel free to contact me via email at weston (at) wakeediting (dot) com with the first thousand words. I provide a free line edit and use it to assess the cost for the different levels of editing services. My prices are quite low, but we can discuss everything if you are interested. The editing site address is http://www.wakeediting.com
Weston

Weston Kincade here, both traditionally published and indie fiction author. I run WAKE Editing at http://www.wakeediting.com and teach English and writing. I am working on my sixth book at the moment, the third book in my A Life of Death collection.
I hope everyone is doing well. It's good to be a part of this wonderful group.

I'm Cynthia Brint, Paranormal Romance/New Adult writer, and author of Maybe Fate. I love reading, and look forward to getting to know all of you. :)
