I can play basic songs and cords but I want to try a first song using 2 hands ((you know playing with 2 hands)) that is not one of those really basic ones you find in beginner books
If your going to start two hands for the first time, I'd suggest starting basic at least until you're used to it. Moving your hands in sync at first is way harder.
It took me while but I actully taught myself how to play the piano. In not very good at it because I don't actually have a teacher but oh well. Once u know where the notes are and how to read the music then ur home free. I've played many years of clarinet and am the proud section leader. It takes practice, practice, practice! But it's really exhilarating when you finally get it.
Well, I don't take lessons and instead taught myself. I mean, I played this.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=29u7cE...
But I don't really know what level I'm at.
Um, I started messing around... like, four years ago, but didn't try learning until one or two years ago.
@Katie hope you feel better@Emily just keep practicing it helps to have some sheet music of a song or songs that you like to work towards, for me it;s the twilight score and fur elise
I like the queieter songs better than the loud ones, I can play we three kings on the right hand pretty well though I don't really like christmas music my first piano teacher had me play it, and parts of the twilght score which I love, playing one part its on a black key and it sounds so amazing exactly like it sounds in the movie, and I know how the pedal works.
I want to learn how to play some songs from anime's that I like; sister princess mainly since they play a song for their brother on christmas and its so beautiful
I'm starting piano lessons with a new teacher today, which I'm excited about, I'm hoping to start playing with both hands soon

aww that's sad; if you have a keyboard you can learn some songs from youtube tutorials
mostly it's beacuse I get to read the sheet music and she's teaching me how to read it better, and I get to pick the songs I play; some are from a piano lesson book but I get to pick extra songs right now I'm learning how to play who are they from the twilight score,
and she doesn't make me feel dumb when I don't know something, and there is no stress so it's fun to play piano. She's really nice and the other day I got a sheet music for a song I never heard before and she played it so I could hear how it sounds.
Well, that's cool. My piano teacher was like that too. I don't even really need lessons anymore. I know how to play fine. I don't like to learn from youtube tutorials. I like to learn the music myself...
that's neat; I wrote some chords from songs that don't have sheet music from youtube tutorials but I don't know how to play from just chords but it'll give me somethig to play around withhopefully you'll be able to get a piano soon
