Is it very important to have a name that can be either gender?

I hope not or I'm screwed!

Did you go and look at the numerolgy site www.numerology.com and get your free mini reading?
That's how I came up with the name Sarah R Weldon, it's an anagram of my maiden name. By doing that I haven't messed with my destiny, which told me I was destined to entertain, as a writer, or performer of the arts!

Anyway, I've had my pen name for awhile now; it's Thalia Anderson, which is the name I use online.
When my best friend signed up for the Three Delivery messageboard (it's a cartoon), she chose a cool username that was just a made up first and last name. When I joined the messageboard, I wanted the same thing so 1) I didn't have a lame username and 2) people would connect we were friends IRL. I'd always loved the name "Thalia" (read it in a Goosebumpbs book once), and "Anderson" is the last name of my character's foster parents in the fanfic I was writing for Three Delivery.
So, for the last three years or so, I've already gotten used to people calling me Thalia and thinking it's my real name; so if I get published someday, the people I know on all these sites will be able to recognize my fake name more easily than my real name!

May I just say that you are a genius? I suppose it could be because I always think of being recognized for my writing as a pipe dream, but I never considered using my pen name as my profile name. It really is brilliant and I juast had to commend you :D

Yes I use a pen name, nom de plume in French Sarah R Weldon and I am about to publish under this name!

..." Thanks, I am signing the book off tomorrow! I have spent the last two weeks fine tuning it with the help of Sharon. Take a bow girl, and thank you for your help!

It does, I feel liberated, I who never ever reads a book more than once, have read this 4 times in 2 weeks.
I think cartwheels are out though my back is only just recovering from slipping in the bath two weeks ago. Hey I think they are missing us in the other group, even Rambling rose!

Use an anagram of your own name all the letters and see what you come up with. Cinderella comes out as Carine Dell!

Your full name should give you a few more letters

Sorry I don't know the answer to that I just play with the letters on a piece of paper!

Add me as a friend and give me your full name and I'll see what I can come up with. My email address is open to my friends!

Oh? Thanks! (: It started as my username, so I guess it's sort backwards, but I like it!

Ingrid, I have a great idea for your name. Take your 'I' in Ingrid and then take the first letter in your last name and add your 'riding' so you have I. first letter of last name. Riding.

I am searching for a new pen name for the serial killer book I think it should appear to have been written by a man. I use my maiden name and use an anagram!

Mia Carter definitely, why not run it through a numerology chart and see if she is meant to be a writer!

Hi Leah
The mixing up of your name is a good idea, ever heard of numerology? Your name reveals your personal traits I was shocked when I had my reading done how accurate it was, and I am destined to be a writer or entertainer so it foretold. How cool is that, my debut novel is due to escape soon, my profile photo is my cover, though they got my name wrong (they put my maiden name on and not my pen name) luckily it hadn't gone to print. It is being rectified and prepared for release, and I can't wait!
To hold my book in my hand I know it will make me cry, purely because my Dad isn't here to see it. For a quick reading for free go to www.numerology.com

I think it may be your computer Brooklyn, I don't have a space!

My pen name is Sarah R Weldon, its an anagram of my maiden name, changing your name changes your destiny. My destiny said I am destined for fame and fortune as a writer, I don't want to mess with that.

Most of us feel this way, that's why we use 'nom de plumes' (pen names). It is scary to think that millions of people could read your book and judge you the person on it. Hey, even Stephen King used a nom de plume. He wrote as Richard Bachman, four books in total they didn't do so well but that's because at his request they didn't publicise them.

Your name should flow of the tongue, people will struggle with Taismo because they won't know how to pronounce it! It could cost you precious sales. I was told to give them at least one initial JK Rowling used this tactic, it gives you an air of mystery. People are curious, they want to know what the initial stands for!
You could have a competition to promote the release of a book, guess what my middle initial stands for?

The translation of my real christian name means Rose of the Plain - it's Hebrew! T. Q Rose has the air of mystery and it rolls off the tongue.

That's better that works now, you have a mysterious air to your name and it rolls of the tongue.
I might have my pen name be Bell and them I don't know what the last name would be. Or I would just simply but my real name.

Kubra Sahiner sounds soooo BLAH! *gaaaag*
I have no idea what I would call myself if I ever publish. Haha

I decided to use a pseudonym for my first book, it sounds classier than my married name and much better than my maiden name. I used an anagram of my maiden name so as not to mess up my karma, and you would never guess my real name in a million years!

Its life you get to change your surname every time you marry, me I like wedding cake according to my daughter and I did it three times! So take your pick!
But seriously why not try an anagram of your name now? Its great fun!

Imagine it:
