I just finished reading Rebellious Heart by Jody Hedlund--a fantastic historical romance! It was set in colonial America. It's suspenseful and set the right mood for this time of year. Very romantic too!

I just started reading Uncommon: Finding Your Path to Significance by Tony Dungy (former coach of Indianapolis Colts). Looks inspiring!
Graham, from New Zealand, just finished reading my ebook SCARED COURAGE. He reviewed it here on Goodreads and rated it 5/5. A synopsis and purchase link are here, http://www.lulu.com/shop/muriel-gill/...
Just finished Holy Available. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/6.... It was funny--I had a hard time getting into it at first, but some of the chapters were so great in pinpointing what discipleship means. I would read it again, and I have quoted it in sermons already.
Jeff wrote: ""The Ragamuffin Gospel" by Brennan Manning. I love how it is about the grace and love of God."great book. I've had it for years but neglected to read it until I saw news of his death. Wish I had done it before!

I just finished a newer book, The Jesus-Hearted Woman, and started an old book that was published in 1959, Thoughts Afield by Harold E. Kohn.
Recently finished Stasi Eldredge's book, Becoming Myself. I found it stirred up some long forgotten memories and ultimately experienced some inner healing. I would recommend it. Started reading Agape Road by Bob Mumford last week, we will see if I agree with the high recommendation it received.
Almost finished "Captive in Iran" by Rostampour & Amirizadeh.A horrifying true tale of two Christian women stuck in an Islamic prison for many months. You'll never think of Islam as a possible Peaceful religion again.
I am currently reading Jesus Freaks by DC talk and The Voice or the Martyrs. It is lots of stories of martyrs who chose to die rather than denying their faith. The stories are so powerful and just reading it has helped me grow so much in my faith.
Dark Hour by Greg Mitchell- Not even 1/4 through and find it incredible and thought-provoking.Singularity by Steven James- Also not 1/4 through and starting to learn some stuff about real-life sci-fi and illusionism.
God is Able by Patricia Shirer. A study of Ephesians 3:20-21. Written while Paul was in prison, it is a tribute to a huge God and our hope in Him. I came away encouraged and ready to pray the BIG unafraid prayers. I'll put a review on here sometime this week (God willing).
I just finished reading The 13th Prime by William Struse. Second installment in his The Thirteenth Series. Lots of action and adventure interwoven with scripture. I posted a review this week. William Struse
The 13th Prime
I am currently reading The Last Jihad by Joel Rosenberg. Just got started but it is excellent. Very fast paced.
The Paranormal World: The Biblical Response to the SupernaturalI saw this recommended on a board somewhere. The topic was whether or not Christians should be doing yoga. This book tackles that subject and many others. With the culture's present fixation on the paranormal, I think it's wise to have answers. The author obviously takes the Word of God seriously, and he uses it to back up a lot of his views. Whether you agree or not, they aren't easily discounted. It's worth a read.
Faith on Trial: Would the Testimony of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John Stand Up in Court?Pamela Binnings EwenI really enjoyed reading this unique analysis of the four Gospels - Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. I was particularly drawn in by the elements of biblical archeology, but also appreciated the author's effort to tie together these separate accounts of the resurrection. This book will speak to many who may not realize the awesomeness of the events that occurred nearly 2,000 years ago. It's another tool in the discipleship toolbox.
Right now I am reading The Screwtape Letter by C.S. Lewis. I have to keep reminding myself that it's the "bad guy" talking because I'm not used to an antagonist being the main character. It has really allowed me to take a step back and look at my life in terms of what Screwtape talks about...i.e. bringing the "patient away from The Enemy".

I read Screwtape, a few years ago but I just got it for my boyfriend to read and he's not much of a reader but he loves it. He's sharing so much spiritual enlightenment that he's getting from it that I'm thinking of giving it another go.
I'm reading "Building a Discipling Culture" by Mike Breen and Steve Cockram. It emphasizes the command of making disciples for Jesus and talks of ways in which churches can build a culture of discipleship. It's a really good book.

Had a friend who just couldn't get through it. She couldn't handle the viewpoint (depressed her).
I'm reading The Twelfth Imam by Joel C. Rosenberg. My first novel by this author and it's great. It's like reading a page out of the news, and then some. I'm learning, not just being entertained. Going to read more of his books.
I'm reading The Circle Girls: Once Upon a Witch. It was nominated for the Clive Staples Award, and it's about a girl who goes back in time during the Salem Witch Trials. It's a decent orthodox Christian book, but I get a little sad as a guy at how much YA and female-centered speculative fiction I read. Not that it's bad, but it's pretty hard to find adult, male-written Christian SF.

You know what they say: sometimes you've got to be the one to write the kind of book that you want to read.
:)
Yeah, but there's way too many chiefs in christian speculative fiction and not enough Indians. Too many writers chasing too few fans. While I do write, I'd rather be a fan in that genre than an author in it.
