In The Libertine, Charles II (played by John Malkovich) appears briefly, but still has quite a memorable role. What is a TV or Film you have watched when you have been surprised that a Stuart has popped up? Perhaps forgetting what time period it was in, or perhaps it was not mentioned?

Harvey | 20 comments Yes... one of the few films I've seen in the last 20/30 years. Thought the casting and acting was great. Enjoyed the 'ballet' that Rochester directed... :)

Tina Michelle | 3 comments Hello. I just joined this site, and found this page. I know it's many months since you've posted, but I was wondering, have you seen Charles II The Power & the Passion (aka Charles II The Last King? I believe it came out in 2003. I watched it a few years ago and really enjoyed it.

Tina Michelle | 3 comments You can find it on YouTube..it's in many parts, and they played around a bit with Charles' final illness, but I got a great kick out of it. Rufus Sewell, or something like that ;) does a Wonderful job as the Merry Monarch. I hope you give it a look, if only to tell me what you think!

Mary | 7 comments Looking for a great series with Stuarts and Tudors, as well as other royals, peripherally involved? Try Dorothy Dunnett's Crawford of Lymond series. One of the very best historical fiction books/series I ever read.

Andrea Zuvich (17thcenturylady) | 7 comments The best series about the Stuarts is probably, "The First Churchills" which dramatises the major events from Charles II's reign to Queen Anne through the eyes of the first Churchills, John and Sarah. I really recommend it to anyone who loves the Stuart story.

In Horrible Histories, the Stuarts, especially Charles II, are featured a lot, hilarious and adorable is the portrayal by Mat Baynton!
