Becky (beckyofthe19and9) Thanks... *sniffle*

Dawn (breakofdawn) I have a PS2 as well, Becky, and I still play it. I hate that PS3 isn't backwards compatible.

And I use my PS3 a lot as a DVD player as well, and to stream Netflix. I probably use it those ways more than for actual games.. But I do play games on it!

message 54: by Gregory (new)

Gregory (gregamused) | 5 comments I too have a PS3, Wii, and PS2 (plus a DSi XL). And the PS2 still gets the most gaming use (currently playing Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance 2). The PS3 is used mostly as a blu-ray player. Only Dragon Age Origins got a lot of play on the PS3. Second most played system in probably the DSi as it has such a great variety of games (including the Dragon Quest series).

Dawn (breakofdawn) Oh yeah, I have a DS as well.. But It hurts my hands to hold for long periods of time, so I only play it occasionally.

message 56: by [deleted user] (new)

Up until about a year ago, I still had an PS2 and an NES sitting in the house that got played a few times here and there.

I think I've actually had, at one point in time, every single major gaming system available. Even the Saturn, which I still mourn to this day. Poor little guy, never got the love he deserved.

I had a Saturn! Sonic was very fun :-)

I don't do a lot of console game play cause I'm a button masher.

Now, give me a pseudo-gun and I'm dropping targets like flies. One shot, one kill. I love the target practice game that came with my Wii zapper.

whimsicalmeerkat | 0 comments I love my DS :)

Mike (the Paladin) (thepaladin) | 5387 comments This thread sort of brought me up short as it actually asks a question I'd have to be at least semi-serious to answer... I'll try (feel free to skip over me and go on with the game discussion :)

1. one God (albeit in 3 "persons")

2. two Children I raised

3. three intense interests (at least for now) Reading (fantasy and other genres), writing (which I will not belabor as writers can do that), outdoor (hunting, camping, shooting, crafting etc.) interests

message 61: by Laurel (new)

Laurel Mike, what kind of crafting do you do?

Mike (the Paladin) (thepaladin) | 5387 comments "Right now (LOL)" I'm doing leather crafting. I did some way long ago when I was young (a little) and it was one of those things I "always meant to get back to". When I wore out the wallet I'd carried for years and I had one laying here cut out and waiting. it seemed the time. So, I tooled and stitched it up. Now I've made my wallet, cases for a sheath knife and 3 pocket knives (so far), tooled a watch band, made my daughter a change purse, made a wristband for my daughters "little-sister (big brothers and big sisters organization)... I have a case for my Buck waiting to be finished right now and a several other knives I'm planning to make cases for. Then...holsters!

My daughter says I go through obsessive hobby phases, she may be right. LOL

I use the PS3 for streaming movies from Sony as well as Blu Rays and DVDs I also use it for BBC's I Player.

message 65: by Laurel (new)

Laurel Mike, I go through hobby phases the exact same way! Sounds very cool!

Mike (the Paladin) (thepaladin) | 5387 comments I think it means I am (or we are) a certain type of person...OCD. LOL

message 67: by Tracey (new)

Tracey (stewartry) So do I! And I can only go full-tilt on one thing at a time. I made teddy bears with every spare moment for years - except for a knitting phase that produced the Doctor Who scarf and half a sweater. And assorted other phases. Always went back to the fuzzies though.

Mike (the Paladin) (thepaladin) | 5387 comments In the past I've painted pewter figure (as in D&D figures), I have a few hundred of those. I need new glasses so I stopped that well before we moved here. I shoot and collect air guns and for a while it was all I did... Iv I "need" a book mark I sometimes stop everything and make a new one. You get the idea. I go to the "Y" almost everyday, I'm hoping that will lead to me being able to be on my feet more than a couple of hours a day, maybe even get back in a tent now and then.

Of course I read a bit (LOL) and try to write. I have a novel I'm in the middle of a re-write on and several in various stages of completion... Oh well. :)

I've got several of those...I think I get my kicks out of just getting the plot down on paper (or pixels *shrug*) and then I move on to the next idea when I starts bubbling around in my head.

message 73: by Tracey (new)

Tracey (stewartry) Did you ever try NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month)? It's a challenge to get 50K words of a novel down on paper (or pixels). I finally did it last November, and it was ridiculously fun.

message 74: by [deleted user] (new)

A whole month of not reading tho...geez. I'd curl up and die

message 75: by Tracey (new)

Tracey (stewartry) Oh, I still got reading in, don'tchoo worry ... I'd have been a drooling shell if I hadn't. I'd have to be at death's door not to make time to read, and even then it'll be "Hang on, just let me finish this chapter".

I've done NaNo for the last 4 years, and will almost undoubtedly be doing it again this year. I'm a great cheerleader (or whip-wielder) if anyone needs a little extra encouragement... ;)

You definitely should. The more the merrier. I would never get any writing done* without people breathing down my neck... NaNo is a great way to get a bunch of encouragement for free!

* Okay, I lie. I would write. I would get lots of odd scenes scribbled on bus tickets, and never stitch them together into anything readable.

Kit★ (xkittyxlzt) | 1018 comments Ok, I have one child, a 15 month-old son named Nikolai (aka Munchkin, or Munchy or just Munch, along with a ton of other assorted pet names), two pets, a black lab, Sir Galahad Puppington (aka Pup or Puppy), and a furry white cat, Merlin (aka Squish, Mouse, or any of the other countless names I call him) and I've been with my guy for three years. I also own a PS3 :)

Joe A (eojsmada) I have 1 amazing and loving wife ;)

I have 2 cats (Abby and Daisy) who are as crazy as the day is long. One is a dwarf maine-coon and the other is a Russian Blue with black and white markings who loves twist-ties.

I am working on a 3rd minor (in History) in addition to the BA in Philosophy that I earned in 2003. My other two minors are theology and classical languages (Latin and Greek). I need the equivalent of a minor in order to successfully cross-over from Philosophy to History and be able to pursue graduate studies.

And I didn't even name the damn fish.

I feel like I'm missing out.

Jen I have had only one husband, who is also my one and only love.

I have two pets. Bosco (a crazy boxer dog) and Sunshine (an adopted black cat that we soooo didn't name!).

And I am planning and saving for three different vacations in the coming year. One simple overnight stay in Toronto for two Jay's games. One camping trip to visit Lovecraft's and Poe's graves. The third to Las Vegas for my friend's wedding.
