During the 1893 World's Fair in Chicago, Herman Webster Mudgett killed 27 people while they stayed at his hotel. Larson recreates the atmosphere of the fair and the murders in great detail. Not for the weak of heart.

Liz (hissheep) Cupcake, I loved "The Devil in the White City" - history overshadowed story, so I'm not sure the value or purpose of the "fiction" portion of the story ...

KrisT I have to say I didn't care for this one. Not enough about the murderer.

Trisha I loved this story. I thought the description of the fair was so detailed that I could smell the wood and dust from construction. I loved the bits and pieces from the new articles and the letters weaved within the writing and story. It helped pull it all together for me and paint the full picture.
The parts of History put in there were amazing. I really enjoyed reading this book!
